RAYMOND STABLER
RAYMOND (RAY) STABLER February 16, 1932 – December 14, 2022 God granted Ray’s last wish. Ray is reunited with the love of his life Hedwig and his two sons Wesley and Ricky. He was also predeceased by his parents Reinhold and Molly Stabler and a brother and sister who died in infancy. Ray has left a legacy of love for life and his family. Ray leaves to mourn his daughter Grace, grandson Jesse (Chrystal) and great grandchildren Eliana and Forrest. Born and raised in Burstall Ray grew up helping on the family farm. Farming was his life. Once a farmer…always a farmer…was one of his favourite sayings. In 1953, he married Hedy and they started their life together. In 1961, they built a new Beaver Lumber home on the family homestead to raise their family. Ray enjoyed farming with his Dad and his sons. After his sons’ death, Grace became his right hand girl on the farm. Ray was active in the community of Burstall. He enjoyed curling, bowling, fishing, playing pool and cards on Saturday nights. He was a member of the men’s choir and an Usher at the Burstall Evangelical Church. Ray loved to socialize with family and friends. In 1997, Ray and Hedy retired to Medicine Hat and enjoyed their new community. Ray continued to curl until he was 80 years young, was a member of the German Harmony Club and Kiwanis Club. Ray and Hedy enjoyed travelling in their RV, bus tours, cruises and trips to Germany to visit Hedy’s family. Ray and Hedy moved to Saskatoon in 2014 to be closer to Grace. They were welcomed and were known as the “Love Birds”. They enjoyed their outings to the theatre, river cruises, parks and the local German club. After Hedy’s death, Ray’s dementia progressed and he moved to Oliver Lodge in 2018. Ray enjoyed his new home and was well received and taken good care of by the staff. He maintained his sense of humour and teasing. He played cribbage & solitaire with Grace while enjoying his chocolate milkshake. He knew his family to the end. A celebration of Ray’s life will be held at Hillcrest Church in Medicine Hat Saturday March 4-2023 at 11:00 am with Rev. Michael Deibert. Lunch to follow. Private family interment. In lieu of flowers, honour Ray’s memory to the charity of your choice.
JERRY HENSEL
JERRY HENSEL October 6, 1948 – February 23, 2023 ‘Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day’ Gerald “Jerry” Michael Hensel, beloved husband of Tracy, passed away at Riverview Care Centre on Thursday, February 23, 2023. Besides Tracy, Jerry is survived by his daughter, Jerri-Lynn Brown, her children, Kahler, Kinley (Rylly), and Kyren; Jeff (Kelly) Hensel, and their children, Lukas, Curtis, Blake, Andrew and Reagan; and Grant (Samantha) Knibbs, and their child, Blakely. He is also survived by his two brothers, Ron (Erica) Hensel and Harry (Val) Hensel and their families. Jerry was predeceased by his daughter, Stephanie (2003) and his parents, Jack and Lydia Hensel. Jerry was born in Wetaskiwin, Alberta and raised in Medicine Hat. Jerry lived an adventurous life, always looking for the next business opportunity. During his life he owned a variety of businesses; a sporting good store, Moby Dick’s Fish and Chips, a crest shop and from there moved into car sales, eventually becoming the general manager at Big M Ford, until he found his true passion in being a bar owner. Burstall Bar was not just a business for Jerry, but a place where his love of collecting bar signs helped him create an oasis for people who became lifelong friends. His favorite place to be, besides the golf course, was in Montana where he spent as much time as possible. He was a child at heart and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Jerry loved to socialize, tell stories, play golf and have a drink with his friends. He was proud to be a member of “table six” at the Connaught Golf Club.
Please join us in a ‘last toast’ to Jerry at one of his favorite places, the Silver Buckle, from 2-4pm on Saturday, March 11, 2023. Condolences may be made at

KEVIN ROSENBARGO
KEVIN ROSENBARGO April 24, 1972 ~ February 23, 2023
Kevin Roy Rosenbargo passed away peacefully in Medicine Hat while surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, February 23, 2023, after a brief but incredibly courageous battle with cancer. Kevin was born on April 24, 1972, in Medicine Hat. He loved to be doing “stuff”; everything and anything, as long as it was outdoors. Kevin did not like sitting still. Hunting and fishing were just two of his passions. He could think up the plans for and build anything one could want as he had a knack for fixing anything broken. Kevin had a heart as big as was allowed for one single human. He loved people and animals and treated both with a soft-hearted kindness. Kevin always had a spare minute to talk and always willing to help when he could, as this was his generous nature. He loved to laugh and had that giggle that is going to be missed by so many. Everyone who knew him, loved him. Everyone who loved him, will be missing him everyday for the rest of their lives. He leaves behind to cherish his beautiful memory, his partner and soulmate, Laure Patterson; son, Ty Rosenbargo and daughter, Karlee Rosenbargo; step-children, Christian, Ryan and Sarah Patterson; two sisters, Sarah (Donavan Wollman) Rosenbargo and their children Maddison, Elizabeth and Alexandria; Joleen (Allan) Pasutto and their children, Anna and Katie; parents-in-law, Arthur and Dora Gill; sister-in-law, JoAnna Gill; brother-in-law, Randy (Charlotte) Gill and their children Cheyenne and Liam; nieces, Logan and Jaralyn McDonald; three precious grandbabies, William, Ariel and Alistair Patterson and their mother, Raven Johnstone as well as so many more extended family, friends, aunts, uncles and cousins. Kevin was predeceased by his loving mother, Carol Kornelson; his father, Joe Rosenbargo; grandparents, Roy and Leah Loose and Alma and Charlie Rosenbargo; aunt, Rosalyn Cooke; uncle, Donald Loose; brother-in-law, Darrell Gill and many other family members that he loved and has now been reconciled with. Our loss is their gain. A Celebration of Kevin’s life will be held at a future date when family and friends can get together to enjoy stories and laughter. Further announcements will be made at that time. (Condolences may be expressed by visiting our website at
