BRENDA GABEL
BRENDA GABEL October 25, 1959 ~ December 16, 2022
Brenda Louise Gabel (nee Charette) peacefully passed away on Friday, December 16, 2022, at the age of 63, with her loving husband and daughter by her side. Along with her husband Allan, Brenda is survived by her daughter, Nikita Gabel; sister, Pam and brother, Michael. She was predeceased by her mother, Jackie MacIntyre and brother, Stephen Charette.
Brenda was born on October 25, 1959, in London, Ontario and raised in Windsor, Ontario. As a teen she loved to dance and skate at the roller rink. Being raised across the river from Detroit, she loved listening to Motown and would often be caught singing her favorite songs around the house.
Brenda moved to Medicine Hat in the 80’s, where she worked at local bars for years. This is where, she showed everyone how fierce and charismatic she was. She was the life of the party and had no problem telling it like it was; a trait that she was well known for.
In the 90’s, Brenda met Allan Gabel and the two fell madly in love. Allan was drawn to her beauty, her confidence and her ability to keep him in check. In 1997, they had their only child, daughter, Nikita. They married on February 2, 2005. Brenda and Nikita were attached at the hip, where one went, the other would follow. Brenda’s family meant the world to her. She was an incredible wife and mother, always putting her family first.
She was passionate, kind, quick-witted and always knew how to put a smile on someone’s face. She will be immensely missed by all who knew her.
Brenda’s life will be silently remembered by family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that people donate to APARC, 1002 South Railway Street, Medicine Hat, AB., T1A 2W2. Allan and Nikita would like to thank the staff at the Margery E. Yuill Cancer Centre and the nurses on 4 West.
