ANNA DOREEN FISCHER
1935 – 2022
Mrs. Ann Fischer passed away peacefully on May 9th, 2022, at the age of 86 years. She leaves to cherish her memory 2 sons, Calvin Fischer and Darcy (Melanie) Fischer; 1 daughter, Audrey (Brent) Lanz; 4 grandchildren, Jeffrey (M’Cherie) Lanz, Cory Fischer, Brock Lanz and Chelsey Fischer; 3 great grandchildren, Hunter, Asher, and Daphne; 2 sisters, Shirley Johnson and Betty (Archie) Daffy; 1 sister-in-law, Joyce Ulrich and many nieces and nephews. Ann was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Fischer; parents, Emil and Lila Ulrich; 2 brothers, Robert (in infancy) and Donald Ulrich; 3 sisters, Irene (Ray) Lippert, Violet (Walter) Hoffman and Beatrice (Jerry) Cullen; brother-in-law, Larry Johnson.
Ann was born in 1935 and grew up on the family farm near Schuler, AB. After serving with the Air Force as a Radar Technician, Ann married Art in 1960 and they settled the family in Medicine Hat. Ann was an avid sports fan, Hockey, Football, Curling, Chuckwagons, and Rodeo were some of her favourites, and she rarely missed a Calgary Flames or Stampeders game if it was on TV. She enjoyed travelling, camping, fishing & spending time with family and friends. Ann also enjoyed spending time in the garden and grew beautiful flowers and an abundance of vegetables that were always shared. Those who had the opportunity to play cards with Ann can attest to her card shark skills and competitiveness. Family was very important to Ann and some of her very favourite times were spent with her grandchildren cheering on the little league baseball games, curling matches, swim meets and school events.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Donations in Ann’s memory may be made to AJ’s Loan Cupboard at
