Kay enjoyed gardening, quilting, crafting, and cooking her entire adult life. Every member of her family was gifted a beautiful, hand stitched quilt and will cherish memories of elaborate holiday meals. She was an incredible host, and no one ever left her house hungry. Nothing compared to the turkey meals she prepared for us without help that required running two kitchens. Family was the most important thing to her, and she looked forward to every visit. What mattered to her the most was serving her family making sure everyone was loved and comfortable.
In 2019, Kay received her 40-year pin for serving as a member of the CWL in Fox Valley and proudly displayed her certificate. She was an active member of the church as her faith was so important to her. She believed in serving God and leading a faithful life.
Five years ago, in 2017, Kay made the move from her home in Fox Valley to Chinook Village in Medicine Hat where she lived for two and a half years. In 2019, she moved into the assisted living facility in Maple Creek to be closer to her family.
Kay and John were blessed with four children, Wayne (Joanne) Bachmier, Geri (Greg) Sillak, Michael (Denise) Bachmier and Yvonne (Stuart) Jackle. They were also blessed with 12 grandchildren, Stephanie (Sean) MacPhail, Cassandra (Kolton) Obritsch, Kimberly Bachmier, Candace (Ryan) Carroll, Andrew Sillak, Ryan (Tammy) Bachmier, Jesse (Sophie) Bachmier, Brittany (Randle) Gold, Kyle Bachmier (Rae Scherer), Danielle Jackle (Lane Sanderson), Dylan Jackle (Brooke Robson), Dayne Jackle (Josey Robinson).
