1929 – WILLIAM ARNOTT – 2022
It is with a broken heart and endless tears that I announce the passing of my soul mate, best friend, and husband, Bill. He passed peacefully to the other side on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at the age of 92 years. When his pain ended ours started. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Diana; daughter, Coralee Arnott-Langan of Medicine Hat and grandsons, Blake and Max; daughter, Jill Arnott of Regina and grandsons, Lucian and Enzo; daughter, Kerri Arnott-Thirsk (Darren) of Weyburn and grandsons, Levi (Renee), Piper (Kelowna), Lukas (Kayla) and great grandsons, Nixen and Tatum; daughter, Janice (Luke) Duke of Lethbridge and grandson, Jevon (Lisa) and great grand children, Maelle, William, and Cullen, grandson, Mitch (Sarah) and great grandchildren, Hazel, Sunny, and Ivy, grandson, Adam, grandson, Grahm (Jenn), great grandchildren, Zyanya and Xayah, granddaughter, Jillian Duke; brother, Lorne (Violet) of Yorkton, brother-in-law, Henry (Lois) Kidney of Saskatoon; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and their children; special friends, Yandy Morejon of Regina and Dr. Ben Durand who was not only our doctor, but also Bill’s “buddy”. Bill was predeceased by his daughter, Lana Lee; his parents, Lillian and Burt; Diana’s parents, Clarence and Betty Kidney; his sister, Verna Bosma; and Diana’s siblings, Jim and Barb.
Bill worked at Sasktel from July 4, 1950 – July 25, 1986. Then with Diana, owned Bardons Gourmet Coffee and Teas in Regina, before moving to Redcliff, Alberta in 1994. His obsession with his lawn was humourous, if there was a dandelion on his lawn at 6:00 a.m. it was gone by 6:01 a.m.!! Bill loved planting flowers and trees. We made numerous trips to Vegas and enjoyed his 90th birthday playing the slots! Cuba was the first time Bill flew and after that enjoyed flying to Vegas. He enjoyed time with his family and friends and always watched curling and loved cheering on the Riders. His most fun times were playing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Bill and Diana shared a love like no other. Always together, and right till the end Diana was by his side. We shared many happy times and his final words were “I love you”. We had 38 beautiful years together and sadly it ended too soon. Memories of this special man will keep us going until we reunite on the other side.
Bill didn’t want a funeral so we will hold a memorial for all to attend early in the summer. Please think of him with love as he thought of you with love.

DAVID ANDREW CAMPBELL
December 11, 1987 – February 22, 2022
It is with deep sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved David Campbell. He passed away on the morning of February 22nd 2022, at the young age of 34. He was born to Rocksanne Campbell and predeceased by Kenneth Kosty in Calgary Alberta. He was the middle child of 3, and is survived by his grandparents Rocky and Joanne, his mother Rocksanne, his brother John, his sister Lori, his two daughters, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces. David is remembered as a happy, goofy, go lucky, free spirit, who had piercing hazel eyes that could conquer the world. He was a strong worker that loved to cook. David lived in Medicine Hat until the age of 18 when he moved to Calgary to help grow his fathers roofing business. After he finished helping his father, he broke out and started his own roofing company just so he could have friendly competition with his father. He loved everything about the city of Calgary because he enjoyed staying busy even in his free time. He had many hobbies which ranged from skiing the top of the mountains in Banff to sitting in his office relaxing while completing puzzles, and everything in between. He would never shy away from a challenge no matter where he was or what he was doing, and you could always pick him out of a crowd because he prided himself on being clean cut, dressed sharp, and smiling big.
Please know you are Deeply missed and loved by many. May your soul Rest In Peace and find all the happiness you so desired and deserved.
A memorial will be held in David's name in summer of 2022 for family and close family friends.
In lieu of flowers donations in David's name can be made to M.A.A.D, or any addictions and mental health office such as Angels @ Risk.

MARGARET SMITH
1927 – 2022
Always tenacious of life, Margaret Caroline Smith relinquished her grip on March 4th, 2022, at River Ridge Senior’s Village in Medicine Hat.
Our Mom was born in Winnipeg and always loved the big skies of the Prairies. She married Clarence Smith secretly in 1949, in her last year of training at the Royal Alex, because it was frowned upon for the student nurses to get married.
They settled in Pincher Creek, where Margaret worked as a nurse at St. Vincent’s Hospital and where her six children were born. She used to joke about being in the throes of labour by herself because the nuns had gone to Vespers.
After 20 years in Pincher Creek, she and Clarence along with the two youngest children, re-settled in Medicine Hat where Clarence founded the Cypress View Vet Clinic with Dr. Alan Bergen. Margaret joined the Victorian Order of Nurses.
She decided to take a degree in nursing from the University of Lethbridge in 1985, claiming that she had to “keep up” with all the degrees of her children. She and Clarence made several trips to China, where Clarence taught animal husbandry and Margaret taught English. They drove to El Salvador with the Pastors for Peace. They visited Jamaica, where they supported the Blossom Garden Children’s Centre. They also supported the “My Father’s House” orphanage in Bucharest, Romania.
After Clarence died in 2001, she remained active in Unisphere and Blossom Gardens and donated to many charities as well as the United Churches in Pincher Creek and Medicine Hat. She delivered for Meals on Wheels for years until it was suggested that she may be a menace to the public on the road.
Our Mom and Dad were committed admirers of Tommy Douglas and in particular, universal health care. They believed that society must create a floor of medical assistance below which no person can fall. They taught us to share what we have with those in need.
Margaret’s immediately succeeding generation, (all pretty grey ourselves), are Arnold (Peggy), Richard (Pat), Marjorie (Dale), Dorothy, David (Val) and Noreen (Roger); along with beloved son-in-law, Russ.
A celebration of life will be held when the weather gets warmer and when we can schedule her six children; thirteen grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren to converge in one place.
Our entire family wishes to extend a very sincere “Thank you” to the many people who have helped us care for Mom over the past several years. She was blessed to have both friends and family nearby, but special thanks must go out to the walkers and companions from Extended Family Services who helped her get her daily “fresh air and exercise”. The incredible staff at River Ridge helped Mom (and us) through her last days with grace and dignity. Prior to that, Meadowlands provided the difficult transition from independent living to memory care.
You have made this journey with Mom a journey that we could bear. We will remember your kindness and consideration always.
