1932 – CHRISTOPHER GETZ – 2021

Christopher Getz of Medicine Hat, passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at the age of 89 years. Family and friends will gather for prayers in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. Due to the restrictions brought forward by the Chief Medical Officer of Health, indoor public gatherings are to be kept to 50 people. Masks are mandatory. Restrictions are applicable for prayers and the funeral mass. The funeral mass will be celebrated in Holy Family Parish (1451 Strachan Road SE) on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Iqbal Khurshid celebrant. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery. 1944 – ERIKA BAEDKE – 2021

Erika Baedke of Medicine Hat, passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at the age of 76 years, beloved wife of the late Otto Baedke. She leaves to cherish her memory three children, Kathy (Ryan) Kirschenman of Medicine Hat, Colleen Baedke of Edmonton and Brian (Pam) Baedke of Medicine Hat; five grandchildren, Jake (Danielle) Kirschenman (Wren and Knoll); Nadine Kirschenman, Lewis Kirschenman, Mathew Fode and Emma Baedke; one sister Lily (Willie) Kappler of Cranbrook; sister-in-law Elfrieda Lasslop of Calgary and brother-in-law John (Elsie) Baedke of Medicine Hat as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Helena and Friedrich Kappel; her husband Otto on October 6, 2006; one brother Hugo (Lore) Kappel and one sister Ella (Arnold) Fuhrman. Erika was born on December 12, 1944 in Polchau, Poland and came to Canada with her family as a small child. They resided in Welling and then later settled in Medicine Hat where she met Otto and they were married on October 24, 1964. That same year they moved to their own farm west of Medicine Hat where they farmed and raised their family. Those who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Masks are mandatory. The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Friday, December 17, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Pastor Shane Hein officiating. Due to the restrictions brought forward by the Chief Medical Officer of Health, indoor public gatherings are to be kept to 50 people. Masks are mandatory. The service will be live streamed, and family and friends who are unable to attend are invited to watch the service by searching for “Pattison Funeral Home Youtube”. The video will go live 10 minutes prior to service time and will remain on the youtube page for future viewing. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery. 1957 – LINDA SCHNEIDER – 2021

Linda Mae “Cookie” Schneider of Medicine Hat, passed away on Friday, December 10, 2021 at the age of 64 years. She leaves to cherish her memory one son Mike Maser (Fiancé Sandra); six grandchildren, Jesse, Logan, Alexis, April, Charity and Chase; her siblings, Maxine (Henry) Schultz, Ed Gates (Dorothy Kiss) and Barb Lemna (Dale Bailey); her Special aunt Mardell Kelly (uncle Adam Leier), numerous nieces and nephews and her special friends Audrey Woloshen (Bruce). She was predeceased by her parents Lila and John Gates and one brother Les Gates. A private family graveside service, by invitation, will take place at Hillside Cemetery.
