ALFRED HARRY HERBERT BELYEA
1949 – 2021
The family of Alfred “Alf” Belyea are saddened to announce his passing at the age of 72 years.
They want to celebrate the life of a hard-working, kind and dedicated family man.
He leaves to mourn his memory, his wife, Deborah; daughters, Trina, Robyn (Korey) and Jodi (Jason); grandchildren, Bryce, Sabin, Landon, Aeris, Amalia; sisters, Lillian and Eunice.
Alf was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Lillian; sister, Florence.
Alf was born in Preeceville, SK and raised in Trail, BC.
Alf was an infinitely kind and dedicated father and family man. He started working for M & B on Haida Gwaii (Queen Charlotte Islands), in the 1960’s and became skilled in almost every aspect of road construction. Later on, his family moved to Ontario, where he took on a road foreman position. They toughed it out for 4 years before returning “home” to Port Clements back on Haida Gwaii (Queen Charlotte Islands). He was a road foreman for many years before expanding his already abundant amount of knowledge to take on the position of public works manager for the town of Port Clements. When his three daughters moved away, his wife and him started their new chapter and moved to Maple Creek, SK for retirement; only to move to Alberta a few years later. He was a steward of his community, serving as a Cypress County Councillor for Suffield for the past six years.
He loved helping people, and people loved him in return.
He deeply loved his family, especially his wife of more than 50 years, and his three daughters. His family of five were his world. He was always beyond excited to spend time with his grandchildren and always had time to listen and teach them things. He enjoyed fishing, darts, pool, and golfing with friends. There wasn’t anything Alf wouldn’t do for someone in need. If there was a chance to volunteer to better an experience for kids or his community, he was always the first to do so.
There will not be a funeral service. Condolences may be made at
http://www.gracememorial.com or emailed to
alfbelyea21@gmail.com. Donations may be made to your local SPCA in Alf’s memory. Arrangements are made by

JASPER LEE
June 13, 2021 – October 27, 2021
Jasper Martin Lee, treasured baby boy of Missy and Brendan Lee, passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at the age of four months. He will be remembered and forever loved by his siblings, Kenzie, Zenon and Atticus, by his grandparents, Bill and Jackie Lee and by his aunties Shauna, Kristin and Lynsey. Truly there are no words that could ever encapsulate such a sweet, smiley and loving boy. No words could justify who he was and who he’ll continue to be. Jasper will forever be the early sunrises full of bright colors and the moon that powerfully shines through the dark. He will continue to be the calm when things stand still, and be the wind that ruffles through the leaves. It’s difficult to find the right words to explain such a vibrant little being, who graced this world with his presence and his light. He was absolutely everything anyone could hope for, dream for, love. Jasper took pieces of our hearts when he left this earth, but truly we were the most blessed by the footprints he left behind. Everywhere we look, we will see his beauty, his color, his love, his charm. Everytime we close our eyes we’ll remember his softness, his heart, his eyes, his smile. He was so much more than a baby, he was a gift, a treasure living up to his name. Forever he will be missed, forever he will be loved. To e-mail an expression of sympathy, please direct it to:

LARRY VOELLER
A week has passed since family and friends of Larry Voeller joined together in remembrance of this much loved and well respected man. Although he will be deeply missed, everyone holds solace in knowing that Larry has surely found a new fishin’ hole in the sky!
Larry’s memory will forever resonate,
He’s moved on from his earthly shell,
To cast his line in a new fishin’ hole,
Maybe even ‘Give Heaven Some Hell’

Vick is survived by their four children Dale (Deb) Selvig of Edmonton and their children Jennie (Zak) and Clint (Ann) Brandhagen of New York; Dwayne (Roxane) Selvig of Lethbridge and their daughter Jaclyne; Joy (Barry) Underschultz of Sherwood Park and their children Christopher (Jessica), Lisa, Tim (Kelsey) and Loreleigh; Daryl Selvig and Kim Selvig of Medicine Hat and their family Tanya (Brian) Richards, Tammy (Sheldon) Hillier, and Natasha Keller; and many great grandchildren. Dad is also survived by his sister Grace Johnson of Edmonton; brother Norman (Betty) Selvig of Shaunavon, Saskatchewan; sister-in-law Margaret Selvig of Swift Current as well as numerous relatives, nieces and nephews. Born May 31, 1922 at Shaunavon, Saskatchewan, Vick was the son of the late Fredrick K. and Hilma (nee Bergquist) Selvig.
Vick was a friend to all who knew him, and always there to lend a hand. His expression “build a silk purse out of a sow’s ear”, fit him to a tee, as he could always come up with a solution with his handywork and craftsmanship with whatever he had on hand. He was the king of improvisation.
Vick’s last years were spent at St. Therese in Lethbridge, where he kept everyone entertained with his wit, stories (a few he may have made up) and his singing.
He was a kind and gentle man and always took life in stride. Vick will be missed. Smiles and laughter are made to be given and received! He shared many with all of us, he will be missed!!
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Vick’s name may be made directly to the Alzheimer’s Society, 40, 1202 – 2 Avenue South, Lethbridge, Alberta T1J 0E3 (www.alzheimer.ca).
