1942 – ANNE DRESCHER – 2021
Anne Drescher of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Tony Drescher, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 25, 2021, at the age of 79 years. Anne’s memory will forever be cherished by her family; daughter, Linda Copeman (Dave); daughter, Gail Lamb (Craig); son, Glen Drescher (Lucy); son, Brent Drescher; grandchildren, Steven Copeman (Deanna), Jennifer Copeman (Dustin), Janice Copeman (Tayler), Ryan Lamb (Tracy), Curtis Lamb (Twyla), Justin Drescher, and Sarah-Anne Drescher (Curtis). Anne also leaves to cherish her great-grandchildren, Jayden, Riley, Austin, Ethan, Kara, Cameron and Brinley; sisters, Connie Fisher, Janet Bradley and sister-in-law, Diana Fregin; as well as many other extended family and friends. Anne was predeceased by her parents Hugo and Jean Fregin; brother, Harvey Fregin; and sister, Marlene Gunderson. Anne was born and raised in Medicine Hat and was employed for over 27 years at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital until her retirement. Anne enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends camping, fishing, bowling, playing bocce and going to the movies. In her quiet time Anne enjoyed knitting and reading. Anne fought hard to overcome her health issues during her last two years of life. Her strength and perseverance will forever be remembered by all who knew her. The family would like to give special thanks to the many doctors, nurses and staff at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital as well as the staff at the Kidney Care Clinic and the wonderful and supportive staff at St. Joseph’s Home, Meadowlands Retirement Villa and the Good Samaritans Society. A Memorial Service will be held at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 1Z5, on Tuesday, November 2nd, 2021 at 1:30 pm with Pastor Shane Hein officiating. AUDREY HAZELAAR
1936 ~ 2021
Audrey Hazelaar went to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at the age of 84 years. Audrey’s memory will be cherished by her three children, Harold (Donna) of Invermere, B.C., Ron of Medicine Hat and Rhea (Ron) Hewitson of Nanaimo, B.C.; six grandchildren, Randy, Janine, Michael, Chris, Lindsay and Houston; ten great-grandchildren; brothers, Casey, Pete and Harry as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Audrey was predeceased by her husband, Herman; parents, Arie and Maria Stigter; a daughter in infancy as well as her siblings, Lane, Rea and Martha. Audrey was born on November 29, 1936 in Honselersdijk, Holland and immigrated to Taber in 1952. She married Herman in 1956. Audrey’s favourite past-times included knitting, sewing, traveling and camping. She loved taking photos of her family but always seemed to be behind the camera. Audrey always put everyone else’s needs ahead of hers as she was the most selfless, giving lady. Her grandchildren were the most absolute loves of her life and she will be missed dearly. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so one hour prior to the celebration of Audrey’s life which will take place at Hillcrest Evangelical Church, 3785 – 13 Avenue S.E., Medicine Hat on Monday, November 1, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Cindy DaRosa officiating. The church service will be live streamed and anyone wishing to experience Audrey’s service, may view the service at: hillcrestchurch.net. BILL FRIESEN
1929 ~ 2021
Mr. William “Bill” Barry Friesen, beloved husband of the late Constance ‘Dodie’ Friesen, passed away at the Good Samaritan Southridge Village in Medicine Hat on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at the age of 92 years. Bill had a large extended family that cared for him deeply. He was the last surviving member of the Friesen siblings. In Bill’s younger years, he could be found fishing, hunting, camping and gardening. Everything he owned had to be customized to Bill’s specs. The family would like to acknowledge the staff at Good Sam’s for all of their care they provided to Bill during his stay there. A private service will be held at Hillside Cemetery. CORINNE SCHNEIDER

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the sudden passing of a daughter and mother, Corinne Dyann Schneider, in Medicine Hat on Monday, October 25, 2021, at the age of 53 years. She was born on April 18, 1968, in Lethbridge, AB., to Marilyn Taylor and Dale Schneider. Corinne will be lovingly remembered in the hearts of her two children, Sarah Ann Schneider and Jordan Louis Hubbard; grandchildren, Patrick Steven Schneider and Zachary Tompson; her mother, Marilyn Ann Taylor of Halifax, NS., and her father, Dale Morgan Schneider of Medicine Hat. In keeping with Corinne’s wishes, a Celebration of her life, a private family gathering will take place in Yarmouth, NS., at a later date. There will be no formal funeral service in Medicine Hat. MARJORIE ANN AMMANN
1940 ~ 2021
It is with great sadness that the family of Marjorie Ann Ammann announce her passing on October 19, 2021, in Edmonton, Alberta at the age of 81 years.
Marjorie (Marj) is predeceased by her parents, Doris (Hall) and Jack Hatley her husband Edwin Jacob Ammann and is survived by her sister Noreen Fisher, sons Dwayne (Robyn), D’Arcy Ammann (Sharron). Grandchildren Joshua (Marie), Joseph (Samantha) and only great grandchild Oliver.
Also left to mourn are several nieces, nephews and an abundance of friends and relatives.
ROY ENSLEN
1938 ~ 2021
It is with a heavy heart that Mona announces that her beloved husband of 60 years, Roy William Enslen, passed away at St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice in Medicine Hat, on Monday, October 25, 2021, at the age of 83 years. He was born on April 5, 1938, in Wisdom, AB. Roy married the love of his life, Mona Dianne Lutz in Medicine Hat on November 19, 1960. He loved to drive truck and drove for a number of different companies most of his life. When he wasn’t driving truck you could find him ‘BS-ing’ and having coffee while discussing current events with his friends. It wasn’t until later in life that Roy took up woodworking as one of his favorite hobbies and past times including watching baseball. Roy belonged to the Royal Canadian Legion, UCT – United Commercial Travelers, the Elks, the Oil Mens Club and was a life member of the Moose. Roy’s memory will be forever treasured in the hearts of his wife, Mona; sons, Steve (Nichol) Enslen and Todd Enslen; grandchildren, Devin Enslen, Melissa (Rob) Enslen, Alisha Enslen; great-granddaughter, Ayva Beebe and special granddaughter, Gemma; siblings, Gordon (Bev) Enslen, Joyce (Merv) Petersen, Vern (Kandace) Enslen and Marlene (Ed) Obridgewitch. Roy was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Mary Enslen, father-in-law, Fred Lutz and mother-in-law, Tina Lutz. A Celebration of Roy’s Life will take place at a later date.
