1933 ~ GERALD TAILLEFER ~ 2021
Gerald Allan Taillefer of Medicine Hat, beloved husband of the late Ottilie Taillefer, passed away on Friday, October 8th, 2021 at the age of 87 years. Gerald leaves to cherish his memory his children, Marlin Taillefer (Sherry Haggerty), Melanie (Darcy) Fischer, Sherry Zdril, Jim Sherburne, Patricia Dick, and Sandy-Jo Lewis; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Donald Wentzell; sister, Valerie Souza; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Emily Taillefer and son, Mark Taillefer. Gerald enjoyed a good round of golf, but his favorite pastime was playing cribbage. He spent many years perfecting his crib game and could be found playing regularly at tournaments in Redcliff. Gerald was always there to help those in need. He was a volunteer member of the Alberta Council on Aging and was also an honourary lifetime member of the Medicine Hat Oilmen’s Association. Above all else, Gerald cherished his family and the time that he was able to spend with them. He is described as nothing but kind, loving, caring, warm, and wonderful. He will be missed more than words can say. There will be no formal service at this time. The family will honour Gerald in the spring with a graveside service at Redcliff Cemetery. 1935 ~ LILA HAUCK ~ 2021
Lila Ruth Hauck of Medicine Hat passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at the age of 86 years, beloved wife of the late Adam Hauck. She leaves to cherish her memory three children, Valerie Gosselin, Timothy (Mary Needham) Hauck, and Shelley (Devon) Heinrichs; eight grandchildren, Crystal and her children, Brandon, Michael, and Daniel; Luke, Candace, Tara (Justin) and their child, Davis; Trevor (Mandy) and their sons, Hunter and Brayden; Harley, Hailey (Felix) and their son, Saint (arriving any day) and Harrison; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Adam Hauck in 1992; her parents, Lydia and Henry Bierbach as well as numerous brothers and sisters. Lila’s life was filled with the joy of wheat farming and cattle ranching as well numerous quarter horses. Her days after retiring in her fifties where filled with coffee drinking and watching wrestling. A private funeral mass will be held in the St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church on Friday, October 15, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Roque Pereira, Celebrant.

Vladimir Shagin of Medicine Hat passed away on Friday, October 8, 2021 at the age of 74 years, beloved husband of the late Nadia Shagin. He leaves to cherish his memory to nine children, Anya (Dan) Popham, Vasiliy Shagin, Victor (Lilia) Shagin, Maria (Mikael) Hawee, Elijah (Marina) Shagin, Elizabeth (Aaron) Dittrich, Luba (Bram) Krol, Ivan Shagin, and Michael (Micheleen) Shagin; 16 grandchildren, Victoria Shagin, Immanuel and Shalom Hawee, Gideon and Abigail Shagin, Linus and Julius Dittrich, Hadessa, Liviya, Yoshua and Toviya Krol, Ezekiel, Jacob, Sophia, Olivia and Quinn Shagin; and 3 siblings: Vera Katalnikova and Nadezhda Rossoshanskaya in Springfield, Massachusetts, USA and Anatoliy Shagin, in Izmail, Ukraine as well as many nieces and nephews who love him dearly in USA and Ukraine. He was predeceased by his wife, Nadia Shagin on February 16, 2021; one son, Paul (2015); his sister Lyubov Polzuk in Izmail, Ukraine and his parents, Anna Michailovna (maiden) Timofeeva and Victor Ivanovich Shagin.
Our dear Papa Vladimir, we, your children thank you for everything you taught and gave us. Thank you for the joy and humor you brought us. You are a great Gift God blessed us with here on earth. You are forever in our hearts. We miss you, but we trust that we will see you again at the feet of Jesus.

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Tara Phalen Blacharczyk, beloved daughter of Frank Blacharczyk and Patricia Hannah; dear mother of Xavier Blacharczyk; treasured grand-daughter of Joan Hannah; much loved sister of Nicole, Caitlin, Tony; and loved partner of Dean Watkins. It is with a great sense of loss that we announce the passing of Allan Seacome Church who passed away peacefully in Medicine Hat at the age of 86 years. He is survived by his two sons, Bob (Wanda) and their family, Carson, Sarah (Ryan) and Kyle (Teanna); Kelly (Imelda) and their family, Nicole (Desmond) and Ryan as well as three great-grandchildren, Chase, Adelaide and Barret. He is also survived by his sister, Kathleen of Nipawin as well as many nephews and nieces who were special to him. Allan was predeceased by his wife, Etta in February of this year. He was born on November 12, 1934, in Nipawin Saskatchewan. Dad loved the “Oilpatch” and spent a lifetime working his way up through the various positions associated with the “Rigs.” Along the way he developed many lifelong friendships. These are people he talked fondly about well into his retirement almost 30 years ago. Allan will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife, Etta in the Carstairs Cemetery with a private service of remembrance. (Condolences may be expressed by visiting our website at

1953 – 2021
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Dennis Dale German announce his passing at the age of 68 years. Dennis was born on September 6, 1953, in Preeceville, Saskatchewan and passed away on October 9, 2021, peacefully at home, WITHOUT CO-VICK, as he pronounced it.
Dennis grew up in Lady Lake, Saskatchewan, a short drive from Preeceville, with his mother and father, Annie & Joseph, and his 6 siblings. His memory will be cherished by his siblings, Kathy (Ray), Walter (Gwen), Betty (Daryl), Jerry (Betty), Carol (Herold), Diane; wife, Peggy; 3 children, Landon (Sheri), Skye (Dallas), Amber (Jarrett); father & mother in-law, Dennis and Irene; 6 grandchildren, Harley, Georgia, Chaz, Berlin, Willow and Asher along with many others whose heart he touched along the way. Dennis was always surrounded by friends and family and he thoroughly enjoyed being the foreman in all areas in his life. He enjoyed scratch tickets, playing cards, ice cream, the farm, hunting & fishing, watching hunting & fishing, or having a drink with friends and family talking about hunting, fishing and of course the never-ending renovations.
A celebration of life will be held at the Gizen Family Farm by Septre, Saskatchewan on Sunday, October 17th at 1:00pm. A public visitation will be held on Thursday, October 14th at Grace Memorial Affordable Burial & Cremation, 1924 10th Ave NW 6:00pm – 8:00pm. For everyone who cannot attend we hope you will celebrate his life in your own unique way. See you later our brother, husband, dad, son, papa, uncle and friend.
