Mitchell Dennis Burton, beloved son of Dennis Burton and Sandra Burton, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus at his home in Redcliff on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at the age of 32 Years. Along with his parents, he leaves behind to cherish his memory: brother, Ian; grandmothers, Pearl Burton and Gertrude Logan; goddaughter, Zahrya Miller as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends. A Celebration of Mitchell’s life will take place at Hillcrest Evangelical Church, 3785 – 13 Avenue S.E., Medicine Hat on Friday, July 9, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jamie McDonald officiating. Olinda “Mickey” Treiber of Medicine Hat passed away on Sunday, July 4, 2021 at the age of 98 years, beloved wife of the late Jacob Treiber. Funeral arrangements will be announced when completed. SHIRLEY COWLING

1944 ~ 2021

Mrs. Shirley Donalda Cowling, beloved wife of Allan, passed away at St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice in Medicine Hat on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at the age of 77 years. Along with Allan, Shirley will be lovingly remembered by their daughter, Jackie (Ken) Rath; son, Bob (Cheryl) Cowling; seven grandchildren; thirteen great- grandchildren; sister, Rose Lessard as well as her sister-in-law, Janice Casselman. She was predeceased by her parents, Ernest and Viola Casselman as well as her brother, Garry Casselman. Shirley was born on May 25, 1944, at Grace Hospital in Calgary, moved to Ottawa and then followed her parents to Morrisburg. Shirley then moved back to Medicine Hat where she met the love of her life, Allan. They were married on July 22, 1978. Over the years, she worked at Medicine Hat Police Service as well as DRES (central registry). Shirley’s life was centered around her family. She loved camping in the mountains with her grandchildren, Sunday suppers as well as playing cards with the kids and adults. Al was Shirley’s caregiver until she was admitted to the hospital on June 25, 2021. It was then that her family was given the heartbreaking news that Shirley had cancer. She is now free from the pain that she had suffered with for so long. The Celebration of Shirley’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. with a time of fellowship to follow thereafter in the Cook Southland Reception Facility.
