1945 – DONALD DIRK – 2021
 Donald Earl Dirk passed away peacefully on June 18, 2021, surrounded by        his beloved family. Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Shane (Nancy)   Dirk and Troy Dirk; twin sister Diane   (Murray) McCartney; granddaughters Krystal Dirk and Theresa Dirk (Morgan Carnelli); great grandson, Rowan     Carnelli, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and good friends. Meeting    Don on the other side are his beloved wife Darlene, dog Suzie, parents Herman Dirk and Celestine “Sally” Winder, as well as brothers Mike Dirk and Joe Dirk. Born June 17, 1945, Don spent many years   on the family farm in Fox Valley       before moving wherever the job would take him. He would fondly recall the     locations visited, and would share the memories of his travels with his       family. He met his best friend Darlene   and they were married in 1965.      When days off rolled around he enjoyed taking his wife and sons on their      own outdoor camping trips; something   he continued to do with the addition of   his granddaughters. He gained much   enjoyment from his granddaughters and frequently encouraged or joined in on many of their antics. When not spending time with his family, Don was usually busy on the lake or golf course, building wooden puzzles or working in his garden. He took great pride in his home and yard, knowing it would be the site of many    fond memories and milestones. The    family will be holding a private service and celebration of life in accordance    with Don’s wishes. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Carmel     Hospice (St. Joseph’s Home) c/o 156 – 3 St. NE, Medicine Hat, T1A 5M1. 1984 – ROBERT HORON – 2021
 Robert “Rob” Walter Horon of Redcliff, passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021 at the age of 36 years. He leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Gabryal and Garyn; his mother Margaret Horon;    three sisters, Deidra (Clayton) Page,   Kelli Horon and Elaine Horon; his    nieces Emilia, Kaitlyn and Violet; his grandparents, Olga Horon and Arlene “Charlie” and Foster Dutton; as well as   his aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. He was predeceased by his   father Darryl Horon and grandfather   Walter Horon. Robert was loyal and    protective to all those close to his heart. He had a passion for anything with wheels, loved music, was a proud Oilers’ fan and adored his dog Cuda.
 Family and friends who wish to pay    their respects may do so on Friday,    June 25, 2021 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.   The funeral service will be held the        following Friday in the PATTISON CHAPEL at 1:00 p.m. with Life Celebrant, David Townsend. The funeral service    on July 2nd will be live streamed and     if you wish to take part please search    for the Pattison Funeral Home youtube page. The video feed will go live 10 minutes prior to the service time. Those who wish to remember Robert with a donation, may do so to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. VIOLET RIEGER
 1928 ~ 2021
 Violet Rieger (nee Jacober) passed    away peacefully at the Medicine Hat    Regional Hospital on Sunday, June 20, 2021, at the age of 93 years. She      was born the youngest of six children to Edward and Rosie Jacober in a sod house on the family farm near Schuler, AB., on March 15, 1928. Violet married Edwin Rieger on August 7, 1948,       celebrating 72 years together. After    moving off the farm they found solace within the community of Victory     Lutheran Church. Violet loved visiting   with her children and especially her grandchildren, always asking about     how their pets were doing. Both Ed     and Violet enjoyed their winters as    Snowbirds in Yuma for more than 20 years. She loved crocheting, crafts and chocolate bars! Violet had the best garden and flowers for miles around for all to admire and enjoy. Her memory will be lovingly treasured in the hearts of her husband, Edwin; children, Larry (Karen) and their children, Kristi and Ryan and his daughters, Anastasia and Maya; Bruce (Donna) and their daughter, Heather (Rick) and their children, Madison, Shelby, Kailey; son, Brian † (Jennifer) and their children, Brody and Georgia; Tom (Barbara †) and their children, Cole and Joshua as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Violet was predeceased   by her parents; brothers, Helmut, Julius, Reinhold, Wilbert and Edwin; grandson, Brian and daughter-in-law, Barbara. A Private Family Service will be      held at Cook Southland Funeral    Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Friday, June 25, 2021, with     Pastor Jim Bredeson officiating.
