1941 ~ LINDA KOENIG ~ 2021

Mary Linda Koenig of Medicine Hat passed away on Sunday, June 20th, 2021 at the age of 79 years. Linda leaves to cherish her memory her four children, Peter (Debbie) Cummins, Paul Cummins, Nancy Romanchuk and Randy Cummins (Alex Aleksyuk); grandchildren; great – grandchildren; and one great – great grandchild all of Medicine Hat; two brothers, Peter Hosking and George Hosking of Nova Scotia. Linda was predeceased by her husband, Harry Koenig; son, George; her mother and father, George and Mary Hosking. Linda was a caterer for many years in Redcliff and for a few years at the Medicine Hat curling club. She also loved to go camping out at Cavan Lake in the summer. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, AB on Saturday, June 26th, 2021 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. VIOLET RIEGER

1928 ~ 2021

Violet Rieger (nee Jacober) passed away peacefully at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Sunday, June 20, 2021, at the age of 93 years. She was born the youngest of six children to Edward and Rosie Jacober in a sod house on the family farm near Schuler, AB., on March 15, 1928. Violet married Edwin Rieger on August 7, 1948, celebrating 72 years together. After moving off the farm they found solace within the community of Victory Lutheran Church. Violet loved visiting with her children and especially her grandchildren, always asking about how their pets were doing. Both Ed and Violet enjoyed their winters as Snowbirds in Yuma for more than 20 years. She loved crocheting, crafts and chocolate bars! Violet had the best garden and flowers for miles around for all to admire and enjoy. Her memory will be lovingly treasured in the hearts of her husband, Edwin; children, Larry (Karen) and their children, Kristi and Ryan and his daughters, Anastasia and Maya; Bruce (Donna) and their daughter, Heather (Rick) and their children, Madison, Shelby, Kailey; son, Brian † (Jennifer) and their children, Brody and Georgia; Tom (Barbara †) and their children, Cole and Joshua as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Violet was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Helmut, Julius, Reinhold, Wilbert and Edwin; grandson, Brian and daughter-in-law, Barbara. A Private Family Service will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Friday, June 25, 2021, with Pastor Jim Bredeson officiating.
