1930 ~ JACK KUNTZ ~ 2021
Jack Kuntz of Medicine Hat passed away on Monday, March 22nd, 2021 at the age of 90 years. Jack leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Garrett (Moira) of Saskatoon, Allan (Jeanette) of Gull Lake; daughters, Jane (Garry) of Calgary and Lucy of Medicine Hat; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Clara Stein; sisters-in-law, Lena Kuntz and Noreen Kuntz. Jack was predeceased by his wife, Eva; parents, Joseph and Anna Kuntz; brothers, Frank Kuntz, David Kuntz and brother-in-law, Alphonse Stein. Jack worked in the road construction and maintenance industry for 18 years in the Richmound district. In 1973 the family moved to Calgary where he was employed as a custodian with the Calgary Board of Education. In 1981, Jack and Eva moved to Medicine Hat where Jack continued on as a custodian with the Separate School Division until his retiring in 1995. In his younger years he enjoyed baseball and curling. In the later years, after retiring, he took up golfing. He very much enjoyed Paradise Valley Par 3 golf course. He loved television and couldn’t wait for curling season to begin. His favorite past time was word search puzzles. Due to Covid-19 restrictions a private Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Parish, 1451 Strachan Road SE, MEDICINE HAT, AB on Wednesday, March 31st, 2021 at 11:00 am with Father Rodel Abanto officiating. Family and friends are invited to watch the funeral mass online. Please go to Youtube.com and in the search line, type in Medicine Hat Holy Family Church. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. 1939~ LOREEN GARTLY ~ 2021
It is with great sadness that the family of Loreen Gartly, beloved wife of Donald Gartly, announce her peaceful passing at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at the age of 81 years. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Gary) Pollock of Suffield; her son, Doug Gartly of Redcliff, and Marlo Lanz of Edmonton AB (her peanut with whom she shared a daughterly bond); grandchildren, Myles (Sarah) Pollock and Jeff (Dara) Pollock; great grandchildren, Noah, Everleigh, and Amelia Pollock; siblings, Wilfred (Marlitt) Eirich, Harry (Pat) Eirich, and Barry Eirich; brothers-in-law, Gerald (Delores) Gartly and Dale (Marlene) Gartly; sister-in-law, Annabelle (Melvin) Derzaph; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as special grand-dog, Sammy. Loreen was predeceased by her parents, George and Molly Eirich; siblings, Alfred Eirich, and Eva Gaylor; brothers-in-law Murray Gartly, George Gartly and Jim Gartly; sister-in-law, Jean (John) Sorochan; as well as mother and father-in-law, Ann and John Gartly. Loreen and Donald were married in Medicine Hat on September 20th, 1958. They raised their family in Redcliff, Alberta. Loreen was a stay-at-home mom and her family always came first. She enjoyed reading and had a talent for sewing, crocheting, and knitting. For many years Loreen also bowled for the Senior’s League along with her husband Donald. Loreen had a loving, caring heart and a smile that lit up a room and made everyone around her feel special and loved. A private family memorial will be held at a later date. As per Loreen’s request there will be no funeral service. Cremation has taken place. Donald Mark Wenzel, beloved husband of Debbie, passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Friday, March 26, 2021, at the age of 59 years. Along with Debbie, Don will be lovingly remembered by his children, Camara (Sheldon), Kelly (Paul), Ryan (Kyla) and Phil (Amanda); grandchildren, Kaige, Taylor, Jastin, Ryker, Blake, Zach, Gage, Luke, Cooper and Benjamin; mother, Ellie as well as his siblings, Ben (Laura) and Rachelle.
