1925 ~ EDGAR ZIEGLER ~ 2021

Edgar Ziegler of Medicine Hat passed away on Friday, March 5, 2021 at the age of 95 years, beloved husband of the late Clara Ziegler. He leaves to cherish his memory seven children, Gerald Ziegler, Howard Ziegler, Niel (Charlene) Ziegler, Donna (Don) Sarpalius, Randy (Marie) Ziegler, Robert (Brenda) Ziegler and Wayne (Gina) Ziegler and all their families as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Louisa Ziegler; his wife, Clara on April 14, 2004 and two brothers, Carl and William. Edgar was born in Helendahl, Russia on May 5, 1925. He immigrated to Canada with his parents, William and Louisa Ziegler in 1928. Edgar grew up in Richmound, Saskatchewan where he received his education. He moved to Medicine Hat in 1945 and worked at various jobs until he married Clara Greenstein in 1953. They moved to their farm in Richmound where they farmed until 1988 and then returned to Medicine Hat. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private funeral service will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Friday, March 12, 2021 at 1:00 p.m with Life Celebrant, Pat Grisonich. 1929 ~ DOLORES WALBURGER ~ 2021

Dolores Amelia Walburger of Medicine Hat, AB, beloved wife of the late Benjamin John “Mick” Walburger, passed away on Sunday, March 7th, 2021 at the age of 91 years. She is survived by her two brothers, John and Shirley Hester and Francis Hester; her four children, Cindy Mulrooney of Medicine Hat, Bud and Myrna Walburger of Strathmore, Blaine and Susan Walburger of Elkwater and Lorie and John Boudreau of Leduc, Alberta. Her six grandchildren and six great grandchildren will forever hold her memory dear to their hearts. She will also sadly be missed by numerous nieces, nephews and many dear friends. She was predeceased by husband, Mick and son-in-law, Doug Mulrooney. Dolores (Hester) Walburger was born in Havre, Montana on August 16, 1929. She grew up with her family, Dorothy and John Hester and two brothers, Johnny and Francis in the Wildhorse area. On October 20, 1949 she married Mick Walburger and they ranched in the Govenlock area for 40 years. She worked side by side with Mick and somehow still found time to have a strong presence in the community. She loved to play ball, dance and enjoyed playing cards. She spent countless hours beating homemade candy, perfecting cream puffs, homemade bread and pies. The coffee was always on and no one ever left the table hungry. She took extreme pride and valued detail and accuracy when bookkeeping for many team ropings. Mom’s handwriting exemplified her detail to perfection. Dolores was also well known in the community for homemade salve that healed many wounds. During the time her four children were in school, she was involved in their activities, including sitting on the Consul School Board as a trustee. When Blaine took over the ranch in 1981, Mick and Dolores moved to Medicine Hat. She joined the Harmonettes and became a Wedding Commissioner. After her numerous hip surgeries, she moved from their home to Teeoda Lodge, Meadow Ridge and Masterpiece where she passed away peacefully with her family by her side. on March 7th, 2021. A special thank you from the family to all the Caregivers that supported Mom. A private family graveside service to celebrate Dolores’s life will be take place at Hillside Cemetery with Gary Goran officiating on March 10th, 2021 at 1:00 pm. 1932 ~ ROSE MAXINE BECKER ~ 2021

On March 3rd, 2021 Rose “Maxine” Becker went home to be with her Lord. Maxine was very involved with numerous charities, both as a canvasser and a donor. Maxine loved life and helped people whenever the chance arose. She was predeceased by her father, Gordon Arthur Hillman and mother, Mary Alice Hillman, as well as her sister, June Louise. Maxine is survived by four children, Bobbi (Bernard) Bast, Beverly Cormier, Daniel Becker, and Edy Lambert; seven grandchildren, Steve (Corrie) Bast, Dave Bast, Jason Cormier, Rachel (Dale) Sisneth, Shelley Whalen, Ashley Lambert, and Ian (Sharaya) Lambert; six great-grandchildren, Tyler, and Cole Bast, Shaelyn Bast, Samantha Luce, Romeo Sisneth, and Parker Johnson; and three great-great-great grandchildren, Mya, Malakai, and Mariah. Jacob Krause of Medicine Hat, beloved partner of Jeanette Frey, passed away on Sunday, March 7th, 2021 at the age of 81 years. Jacob leaves to cherish his memory, Jeanette; children, Steven (Tammy) Krause and their daughter, Natasha of Medicine Hat and Laura (Michael) Flett of Red Deer; brother, Hugo Krause; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Jacob was predeceased by his parents, Jacob and Bertha Krause and one brother. Janice Croxford (formerly Woodcock) of Medicine Hat passed away on March 1, 2021 at the age of 76 years. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Lesley (Trevor) Tuchscherer of Dunmore; two grandchildren, Jessica Klaudt (Brandon Russell) and Terin Gale; one great-grandson, Hendrix Russell; her second husband Charlie Croxford’s family; her siblings, Niel (Jennifer) Wild, Hilary Reynolds, Andrea Beckett, and Sylvia (Elmer) March; sisters-in-law Denise Wild, Olive Woodcock and Carol (Grahame) Knight, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Eva and Harry Wild; her brother John Wild; her first husband, David Woodcock on May 17, 1992; and her second husband, Charlie Croxford on February 20, 2003. It is with great sadness that the family of Eric Wirzba announce his passing on February 27, 2021 in Medicine Hat, Alberta at the age of 84 years.
