Rose Ann Jerome of Medicine Hat passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at the age of 75 years, beloved wife of the late Frederick Jerome. Funeral arrangements will be announced when completed. It's with heavy hearts to announce the passing of Elvin Christianson. He passed peacefully on January 16, 2021, at Crowsnest Pass Care Center in Blairemore, Alberta at the age of 86. He was predeceased by his first wife and the mother of his 4 children, Lois Christianson. Elvin leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Audrey; children, Sheryl (Chuck) Copeman, Grant (Christine) Christianson, Cindy (Harry) Christianson, Ken (Rhonda) Christianson and his step-children Bobby Levesque and Denise Levesque. He is also surved by 11 grandchildren, many great- grandchildren and one great-great- grandchild. Elvin was born in Rose Valley, Saskatchewan and moved around a lot before making Medicine Hat his home over 60 years ago and where he continued to grow his family. Elvin worked a few jobs before he retired, his main ones were at Good Year and with the City as a bus driver. Elvin had a love for horses starting at an early age and passed that onto his children. He enjoyed tinkering in his garage fixing things, being in his yard and visits from family and friends. Due to Covid restrictions, a service in his memory will be held at a later date. "Forever In Our Hearts"

James Benson Summers of Seven Persons passed away on his 68th birthday with family by his side. He was the devoted husband to Brenda Fischer for 42 years. Jim is remembered with love by his children, Kari (Matthew) their children, Makayla and Mark; Robert; Jennifer (Neil) their daughter Desirae; and Lisa (Joshua); sisters, Bel (Gordon), Effie (Kevin) and Joan; nieces and nephews, Emily (Craig), David, Brendan, Kate (Daniel) and Kailin; aunt, Marnie and many cousins. He is also remembered by close friends of many decades, Allan and Marilyn Leis, Kent and Karen Phillips and Robert Martin and Susie Strachan. Jim was predeceased by his son, Michael (2017); parents, David (2011) and Margaret (2019) Summers; and his in-laws, Alvin (2015) and Evelyn (2005) Fischer. Jim was born in Musselburgh, Scotland and grew up in Ontario. He lived in Zambia when he was in high school and then studied Civil Engineering at the University of Manitoba. Jim and Brenda were married in Winnipeg on October 21, 1978. He built his home on the family farm in 1986 in Cypress County, where he enjoyed working outside and tinkering with projects. Jim loved spending his summers camping, biking, hiking and spending time with his family at Mt. Kidd in Kananaskis. He loved to travel and greatly enjoyed cruising with his wife. Jim loved his job at Defense Construction Canada (DCC) at CFB Suffield and was fortunate to work with his wonderful managers and team. He was looking forward to celebrating his 10 year employment anniversary this upcoming June. Jim was passionate about volunteering and most recently was the Treasurer for the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) Medicine Hat Branch. Jim was taken from us by cancer far too soon. While we will miss him forever, we are glad he is no longer in pain. Due to COVID restrictions and Jim’s concern for others’ safety, a private family service will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, followed by the interment at Hillside Cemetery.
