He then settled in Redcliff with Rosie and their young family. Allen also worked in the oil and gas industry and later on as a truck driver. In addition, he also served as a Volunteer Firefighter with the Redcliff and Box Springs Fire Departments. Allen and Rosie were fond of adventure and that included a love of travel. Some destinations were Southeast Asia, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Cuba, Eastern Europe, Dominican Republic, and Costa Rica. He was an enthusiast of the outdoors and his favourite activities included family camping trips, fishing, and hunting. He was also quite creative with his barbeque and smoker. One of his latest quests was to continue to master his fly rod and to get his boys excited about fly fishing as well. Rest Peacefully, Allen, in Jesus’ comforting embrace. LILY MUELLER

January 31, 1927 ~October 20, 2020

Lily Mueller, beloved wife of the late Elmer Mueller, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at 93 years of age.

Lily was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Elmer in 2018; two infant children, Sharon and Myron James; two sisters Magdelina and Herta and many cherished family and friends.

Lily will be lovingly remembered by her children: Lucie (David) Oliphant, Victor (Oekie) Mueller, Karen (Mark) Horch, and Myron Mueller. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Sarah (Andy) Kirschenman, Andrew (Kristine) Oliphant, Hannah (Lance) Penner, Aaron (Trena) Mueller, Stephanie Mueller (Joe Szabo), Nathan (Lauren) Horch, Charis Horch, and Daniel (Michelle) Horch and by her great- grandchildren: Isaiah and Sierra, Elinor and Myles, Jacqueline and Deacon, Gabriel and Malcolm, and Gavin. Lily loved her family… seeing her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren brought a smile to her face.

Lily was born in Wygoda (Friedensheim) near Odessa, Ukraine (then USSR) on January 31, 1927. At a young age, her family relocated to Yerevan, Armenia where she lost both her mother and father. She was then raised by her grandmother and older sister. They went back to Odessa, and then spent a brief time in Poland and Ulm, Germany during WW II. After the war she worked for a furrier. As a young girl she learned to speak German, Russian, and Armenian.

In 1948, with the help of an aunt and uncle’s sponsorship, Lily immigrated to Canada, eventually residing in Calgary. She married Elmer Mueller in Calgary on December 8, 1951. They spent much of their lives farming in the Horsham, Saskatchewan area. In 1977, Lily and Elmer moved to Medicine Hat where Lily worked at Stone Furs for a number of years.

The favourite place for Lily was to be at home with her family. She also loved to garden, plant flowers and go to the mountains.

At an early age, Lily’s grandparents taught her about Jesus. Church, worship and reading the Bible were very important to her and she passed this down to her children.

A private service will be held in Medicine Hat on Monday, October 26, 2020. (Condolences may be expressed by visiting http://www.cooksouthland.com). Honoured to serve the family is

ROY BARTLETT

A brisk fall day greeted those attending Roy’s celebration at Cook’s this past Saturday. Beautiful floral displays along with special music and words of tribute, surely provided lasting memories for all in attendance.

Remember Roy’s smile,

And all the love he shared,

Never passing on an opportunity,

To show how much he cared.

His Life Lived…

His Life Cherished…

His Life Honoured.
