1929 ~ EMMA TSCHRITTER ~ 2020
Emma Tschritter of Medicine Hat passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at the age of 90 years, beloved wife of the late Edward Tschritter. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter-in-law, Lavinia Tschritter of Medicine Hat and son-in-law, Barry Schlenker of Elkwater; four grandchildren, Carla (Jason) Wakelam, Christine (Trent) Thingvold, Conrad (Dayna) Tschritter and Candace (Brant) Stuber; eleven great grandchildren; her brother, Herb Klaudt; two sisters, Frieda Jeske and Lorraine Rathwell. She was predeceased by her parents, Emanuel and Hulda Klaudt; her husband Ed; her son, Ron and daughter, Caroline as well as her brothers and sister, Edwin Klaudt, Leonard Klaudt, Richard Klaudt and Eveyln Spiry. Emma was born on June 6, 1929 on a farm near Golden Prairie, Saskatchewan. She married Edward on October 8, 1949. Ed and Emma raised their family on the farm near Elkwater and also boarded a teacher at the local school. She sold cream and had her wheat milled which she traded at the local stores. They moved to Medicine Hat in 1982 where they built a home in Ross Glen. Emma lived in Parks Meadows Estates, Norwood Grande and The Wellington. She enjoyed sewing and joined a sewing club at her church and took pleasure in cooking, canning, making noodles and sauerkraut. Emma worked hard all her life. Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Sunday, May 31, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. A private family graveside service will be held on Monday, June 1, 2020 in the Hillside Cemetery with Rev. 1933 ~ PETER FITTERER ~ 2020
Peter ‘Pete’ Phillip Fitterer passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2020 at the age of 86 years, beloved husband of Josie Fitterer of Medicine Hat. He also leaves to cherish his memory his four children, Bill (Terry) Fitterer of Medicine Hat, Peggy (Ken) Lesmeister of Medicine Hat, Karen (Dale) Fogen of Medicine Hat and Tracy (Mel) Exner of Regina; eight grandchildren, Shane Fitterer, Bailey Fitterer, Leslie (Kevin) Jackson, Kelly (Melody) Lesmeister, Dillon Fogen, Dr. Dawson (Paige) Fogen, Jackson Exner and Mackenzie Exner; eight great grandchildren. Peter ‘Pete’ was raised in the Sceptre and Prelate area, where he attended two different country schools. After his school days he worked on the family farm and ranched. In the winter of 1961 he married his lifelong sweet heart, Josie. They started their married life on the Bar -EF Ranch, south of Sceptre in the Great Sandhills. While on the ranch, Pete and Josie farmed and raised cattle. Pete enjoyed big game hunting and coyote hunting with his hounds. Pete was a member of Signal Valley Co-op pasture and over the years he was also the Caretaker, Director and President. Pete’s passion was ranching and lived his life as a true cowboy. On the ranch they raised their four children, until they moved into Medicine Hat in the fall of 2005 and retired. In retirement he enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, rodeo and keeping up with the cattle sales. He made many friends bowling and in their neighbourhood. A private family graveside service will be held in the Hillside Cemetery with Deacon Robert Risling officiating. 1933 ~ SIMON SCHMALTZ ~ 2020
Simon Schmaltz passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2020 at the age of 87 years, beloved husband of Dianne Irene Schmaltz of Medicine Hat. He also leaves to cherish his memory his eight children, Yvette (Les) Wingenbach, Stephen (Karen) Schmaltz, Justin (Melba) Schmaltz, Sandra (Marty) Fritz, Patrick (Stephanie) Schmaltz, Trish (Bill) Syme, Kristine Schmaltz and Clint (Tara) Schmaltz; twelve grandchildren, Alicia (Brandon) Maser, Juanita (Troy) Risling, Derek (Marieta) Wingenbach, Jakob Schmaltz, Erika Schmaltz (Hiran Shah), Kaleb Schmaltz, Landon Fritz (Christie Heatherington), Connor Fritz, Taryn Fritz (Colin Love), Max Schmaltz, Ava Schmaltz and Ilsa Schmatlz; thirteen great grandchildren; his brother, Ralph (Colleen) Schmaltz; Dianne’s sister, Ann (Ralph) Immel as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Rosa Schmaltz; one grandson, Michael Lee Schmaltz; his brother, Frank Schmaltz; four sisters, Elizabeth Steier, Mathilda Schmaltz, Rose Mardian and a sister in infancy. Simon was born January 28, 1933 on a farm near Prelate, Saskatchewan. He married Dianne on June 18, 1960 and they ranched and farmed in the Great Sand Hills area. They moved to Medicine Hat in 1983 and where they have resided since. The funeral mass for invited family will be celebrated in Holy Family Parish (1451 Strachan Road SE) on Saturday, May 30, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. with Fr. Vijaya Bathineni officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery. Due to restrictions in place regarding COVID-19 from the Chief Medical Officer of Health – funeral services are now limited to no more than 50 attendees including family. Family and friends are invited to remotely attend the funeral mass through live streaming on our Facebook page – Pattison Funeral Home and Crematorium. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery. Kim Roxann Vorreiter of Medicine Hat passed away suddenly on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at the age of 58 years, beloved wife of the late Arnold Vorreiter. She leaves to cherish her father Gary (Kathleen) Deibert and mother Ruth (Charles) Orr; three brothers; Tom (Renee) Deibert of Minneapolis, USA, Michael (Jamie) Deibert of Medicine Hat and Danny (Cindy) Orr of Maple Ridge, BC; her sister, Rene (Shane) Hemenway: two sisters-in-law, Debbie Vorreiter and Connie (Christian) Walker; her dog Trixie as well as numerous aunts, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents husband Arnie on December 23, 2014, her in-laws Adolf and Elsie Vorreiter and grandparents, Lewis and Elsie Deibert and Paul and Rosie Hunsicker. TIM REGAN
1955 ~ 2020
Timmothy ‘Tim’ Regan, beloved husband of 41 years to Donna, passed away in Redcliff on Wednesday, May 27, 2020, at the age of 64 years. Along with Donna, Tim leaves to cherish his memory: daughter, Jennifer Regan; sisters, Dawn Link and Tammy (David) Adams; sister-in-law, Leona (Irv) Duchcherer; brother-in-law, Clinton (Kelly) Anderson as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Mark and Rusty as well as one sister, Wendy Roberts. Tim was employed a number of years at Dom Glass, all the while working towards becoming a Millwright. With his journeyman’s certification in hand, he moved on to work at gas plants in the Empress area through until his eventual retirement. His favorite pastimes included camping, fishing and travelling.
