1923 – AUDREY METZ – 2020
Audrey Metz, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at the age of 96 years, beloved wife of the late Felix Metz. She leaves to cherish her memory five children, Karen (Eugene) Bolen, Orville (Jean) Metz, Frances Metz, Robert (Marlene) Metz, Alex (Sherri) Metz; seventeen grandchildren and twenty seven great grandchildren; one brother-in-law Carl (Joan) Metz; two sisters-in-law, Josephine Mann and Pauline Wright as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Paulina and John Gibson; her husband Felix on November 8, 2018; one grandson and one great grandson. Audrey was born on September 12, 1923 in Todmorden, England. She met Felix in England where they were married on December 20, 1945. They then moved to Canada settling in the Richmound area where they farmed until retiring to Medicine Hat in 1995. Those who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Family and friends will gather for prayers in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. A private family graveside service will be held at Hillside Cemetery. We are saddened to announce the sudden passing of Benedict (Ben/Benny) Michael Lanz, beloved husband of Penelope Lanz, at the age of 80 years in Medicine Hat, AB on March 8th, 2020. Ben was born on April 3rd, 1939 in Schuler, AB. He was a long time employee of GOODYEAR until his retirement in 2001. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his children, Pamela (Steven) Bohnet, Shane (Tasha) Lanz and Chad Lanz; his cherished grandchildren, Trinity Lanz, Julia and Hayden Bohnet; siblings, Frank, John, Ed, Tony Lanz, Mary Bitz, Francis Gaetz, Veronica Sehn and Kathy Peterson; Penny’s siblings, Seamus (Theresa), Brian (Barb) and Maura Marriott; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Roy Lavern Vossler of Redcliff, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at the age of 76 years, beloved husband of the late Fay Vossler. He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Jodi (Nick) Diamant and Rolanda (Steve) Stillinger; three grandchildren, Jayden Stillinger, Brandon Stillinger and Demitria Diamant and one sister Irene (Eddie) Weisgerber. He was predeceased by his wife Fay on February 8, 2018 and his parents Emma and Christopher Vossler. Roy owned and operated Hat Radiator/Royce Radiator for over 50 years. CYNTHIA CARNELLI
1957 ~ 2020
Cynthia ‘Cindy’ Roxanne Carnelli went to be with her Lord, peacefully in Medicine Hat after a courageous battle with cancer, on Saturday, March 7, 2020, at the age of 62 years. Cindy will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Dean; two sisters, Dianne (Lorence) Wittke and Roselyn (Dennis) Ritz; nephews, Justin (Jessica) and family and Matthew (De-Ann) and family; niece, Lyndsey; mother-in-law, Helen Carnelli and her brothers-in-law, Dan (Lisa) Carnelli and family and Darren (Roxanne) Carnelli and family. She will also be fondly remembered by her many friends and colleagues at the City of Medicine Hat, where she worked for the last 25 years; her church family as well as her extended family and many friends in Canada and the United States. Cindy was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Olga Stahl; father-in-law, Ron Carnelli and brother-in-law, Tye Carnelli. Cindy was a vibrant, gracious and passionate woman which was always apparent through her love for her family and friends. A Celebration of Cindy’s life will be held at River Valley Community Church, 1101 Queen Street S.E., Medicine Hat on Thursday, March 12, 2020, at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Mark Borrows officiating. A private interment will take place prior to the church service. On Tuesday March 3, 2020, Zachary Holizki passed away peacefully at home in Calgary at the age of 90 years. Zack was born on July 4, 1929 to Zackary and Mary Holizki. Zack will be lovingly remembered by his children, Karen (Dan); Barry (Maria); Lorene (Michael); John (Carol) and Families. Maria (Mary) Magdalena Voeller of Medicine Hat, wife of Simon Voeller, passed away peacefully at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Thursday, March 5, 2020, at the age of 89 years. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 68 years, Simon; sons, Larry (Cindy) and Ray (Anna); grandchildren, Aimee (Troy), Michael (Ashly), Brett (Kennedy), Lisa (Walter), Bradley (Alaina), Chelsey, Derek and Jesse (Kaila) as well as three great-grandchildren, Sierra, Monroe and Nash. Mary was predeceased by her parents, John and Magdalena Keller; sister, Victoria Sieben and brothers, Adam, Joe, Jim and Peter Keller. Mary was born on the farm in Reward, Saskatchewan. She married the love of her life, Simon on June 19, 1951 and together they farmed and raised their sons in the Maleb area. Mary loved to garden and was an excellent cook. Her pizza buns and homemade pickles were just a few of her grandchildren’s favorites. She enjoyed camping with Simon and their numerous fishing adventures, especially when she outfished Simon! Mary also liked to get together with friends for a night of cards and socializing! She loved her family dearly and will be lovingly remembered by all those who knew her! SEIFERT, Warren
Warren Heinz Seifert passed away peacefully in Regina, SK on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at the age of 76 years. Born in Regina, SK on June 16, 1943, he was the oldest child of Heinz and Gien Seifert. He married Linda Wenaas, daughter of George and Esther Wenaas December 30, 1960. They took up residence in Consul and he went to work with his Dad at Consul Service Station. He took mechanic training in Regina and continued to work at Consul Service Station for his Dad until 1976 when Warren and partners bought the company and operated the GM Dealership and Farm Machinery Dealership until the mid eighties. Warren went into cabinet building and construction after the garage was closed. He taught mechanics and woodworking at Consul School for almost 30 years and loved every class he had. Teaching shop class was his favorite place to be. He was passionate about the community that he lived in and was involved with the village maintenance most of his adult life. Warren had a passion for going to Mexico with a team to build houses for the less fortunate. He made the trip 14 times and took family members on many trips to share the experience. He was extremely proud of all of his children and their accomplishments. He was predeceased by his parents Heinz and Gien Seifert and two nephews Cody and Troy Zentner. Warren will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife Linda; three children Mitchell (Kendra) Seifert, Geano (Shelley) Seifert and Nicole (Eian) McNaughton; as well as his grandchildren Kelsi (Adam), Colton and Travis Seifert, Tenille (Brad) Harris and Alexander, Nolan and Bailee McNaughton and great grandchildren Ayden Ladouceur, Sammie Seifert, Summer, Noah and Finley Harris. He also leaves behind his two sisters Bonnie (Chip) Crocker and Darlene (Gary) Zentner and many nieces and nephews and their families. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held in Consul at the Community Hall on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Dave Manley Officiating. Lunch to follow.
