JASON (JAY) MILLER
January 18, 1975-December 26, 2019
at the age of 44. It is with heavy hearts the family of Jay announces his sudden passing at his home in Bali, Indonesia. Jay leaves to cherish his memory his wife Lynna, his precious bulldog Neil, his extended Indonesian family, daughters Kristy and Kaylee and their mother Sharon Miller. He also leaves to mourn his passing his beloved Mother Donna (Vern) Arnold, his sisters Amy (Levi) Barlee and Chandra Miller, the grandfather he adored Papa Tony Dirk and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Jay was predeceased by his father Patrick Miller, his Grandfather William Miller, his Grandmother's Emma Miller and Rose Dirk as well as other treasured family members.
Jay was an adventurous soul who believed in living life to the fullest. He started working the oilfields of Alberta and then following his father's footsteps went overseas. Jay worked in Indonesia, Iraq and lastly in Saudi Arabia. Although Jay had been overseas for more than a decade, he always came home to see his family and friends at every opportunity. We all knew that it did not matter where he was, he was just a phone call or video call away.
Jay was a talented self-taught musician who loved to play his bass guitar and often played at the local clubs in Bali. He would simply walk to the stage and the band would hand him a guitar and he would play as if he had been a member for years.
A Celebration of Jay's life will be held January 25th, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at the Redcliff Senior Center 26 Main Street. Jay was a great storyteller; with his impish grin he would tell his family and friends about his latest adventures and the occasional misadventures. We loved that he shared his life with us through stories and beautiful photographs and ask his family and friends to honor his memory by sharing their memories of him.
