1921 ~ JUNIS WELLMAN ~ 2020

She is lovingly remembered by her daughters Carol Wellman, Kathy (Mark) Carry, and Wanda Spiteri and her three cherished grandchildren Savannah Wellman, Nicole (Grant) Seefried, and Cory Spiteri. She was predeceased by her husband Ray and daughter Vicki. June was the youngest of nine children born to Otto and Anna Hoffos in Assiniboia, Saskatchewan on August 31st, 1921. From Assiniboia they moved to Blackie, Alberta, then to Vulcan and finally settled in High River where they managed the Highwood Golf and Country Club. Family would like to thank the staff at Sunnyside Care Centre for their care and kindness over the past several years. No service will be held at June’s request. LORETTA JOSEPHINE SPRAGG
August 10, 1935 ~ January 3, 2020
It is with broken hearts that the family announce the passing of Loretta Josephine May Spragg at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Friday, January 3, 2020, at the age of 84 years. Loretta is survived by her six children, Debbie Rajotte of Salmon Arm, BC., Danny Lemoel of Vancouver, BC., Laura (Bill) Seigo of Regina, SK., Kathy Pearce of Medicine Hat, AB., Larry (Tina) Spragg of Airdrie, AB. and Steven Spragg of Calgary, AB.; together with her 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren as well as her brother, Larry Wiles of Langley, BC. Loretta was predeceased by her first husband, Andy Lemoel and her second husband, Joseph Spragg; father, Charles Wiles as well as her mother, May Hettervig whom Loretta lovingly cared for during May’s battle with dementia. Loretta was born and raised in British Columbia and although she came to reside in Medicine Hat in 1978, a huge part of her heart remained in BC. Her faith was a very important part of her life as an active member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Loretta formed close bonds with her friends. She was a hard working woman in her everyday life as well as in her faith. Loretta loved to cook, visit with friends and was a great support to those in need. She had a way of telling a great story and could make everyone laugh. Inspite of her battle with dementia, that ability to laugh and smile never left her. She really was loved by all. During the last few years of Loretta’s life, she depended more on her extended family in the Assisted Living and Extended Care. Loretta was always grateful, gracious and thankful for the kindness and care she received. The family would like to thank all who were involved in Loretta’s care; you know who you are! Remember to Live, Love and Laugh. A Come & Go Tea Celebration of Loretta’s Life will be held at Masterpiece Southlands Meadows, 4401 Southlands Drive S.E., Medicine Hat, on Saturday, January 18, 2020, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Level One. The family will honour Loretta’s life with a private service at a later date. ROSEMARY BAUMBACK
May 10, 1956 – January 7, 2020
It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce Rosemary Baumback, beloved wife of Wayne Baumback, passed away in Edmonton, Alberta at the age of 63 following a courageous and determined battle with brain cancer. Rosemary leaves to celebrate her legacy her daughter Nicole Baumback and son-in-law Jeff Pugh as well as her son Brett Baumback and daughter-in-law Jenelle Butler. “Nana” will forever be adored by her granddaughters, Elise and Nora Baumback. And for her role as back-up grandma, “Rose” will be fondly remembered by Emma and Rhys Pugh. Rosemary is also survived by siblings Peter Gwinner, Roberta Gwinner, Julie Munro, Daniel Gwinner and families as well as her brothers-in-law Bryan, Terry, and Ken Baumback and families. Rosemary was predeceased by her parents Freda and Robert Gwinner
and her sister Lillian Fisher. Rosemary was born and raised in Medicine Hat. She spent much of her early years attending the Salvation Army church and helping out with her parents’ catering and restaurant businesses, acquiring a tireless work-ethic and strong volunteer spirit from her immigrant family. She graduated from Medicine Hat High School in 1974 and married Wayne, her highschool sweetheart in 1976. They remained in Medicine Hat to raise their family. She worked for 24 years as an elementary school secretary for Medicine Hat School District 76, with 18 of those years at Ross Glen School. She retired in 2013, then in 2017 took the big step of moving to Edmonton to be closer to her children and grandchildren after calling Medicine Hat home for 61 years, leaving behind so many of her dearest friends. This decision proved to be simultaneously
her greatest challenge and greatest fortune in life–she was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer 4 months after the move and subsequently spent the last 2 years of her life living to the fullest, loving and being loved beyond description, all while facing the grueling challenges of her
illness with grace and positivity. Rosemary will be deeply missed and affectionately remembered by all who knew and loved her. Many thanks to the staff at the Misericordia Hospital ICU for the gracious and dignified care shown to our entire family during Rosemary’s final days. A celebration of Rosemary’s life will be held from 11am-2pm on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Medalta. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you please consider a donation to Medalta or another charity or non-profit of your choosing.
