1928 ~ EVELYN "KIT" KUBLIK ~ 2019

Evelyn May ”Kit” Kublik of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late, Edwin Heller, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 20th, 2019 with her best friend, Ellen, at her side. Kit leaves to cherish her memory her son, Doug; her grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Evelyn was predeceased by her parents, Cecil and Hearl Heller; husband, Edwin; son, Robin; and her two sisters, Ruth and Verna. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Merril Raymond Kealey of Medicine Hat passed away on Tuesday, October 15th, 2019 at the age of 83 years. Merril leaves to cherish his memory his son, Stephen (Miranda) Kealy of Red Deer, AB; grandchildren, Phoenix, Tray, Kyleigh, Hunter, and Melasia; brothers, Robert (Anita), Mervin (Helen), Brian (Audrey) and Michael (Pat); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Gary James Bierback passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2019, at the age of 68 years, beloved husband of Rosanne Bierback of Cypress County. CHAMBERS

Olga Chambers passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2019, at the age of 87 years, beloved wife of the late Harold Chambers. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Joyce (Mervin) Wagner, Marion Erikson, Ken (Prudence) Chambers, and Audrey (Brian) Silver; numerous grandchildren; one brother Matthew Kozenko; her three sisters, Betty Bondar, Ann (Wayne) Leslie, and Janette Kozenko. She was predeceased by her parents Sophie and Joseph Kozenko, her husband Harold Chambers on September 5, 1999, two brothers Johnny and Bill, and her sisters Kathy, Edna and Mary. Olga was very active into her senior years. She enjoyed line dancing all around the city, including the Veiner Centre and the Esplanade. She also participated in the “Alzheimer Lunch Club”. Olga was able to live in her home where she maintained a beautiful flower garden and enjoyed feeding her fish. She attracted countless bird species to her backyard oasis, especially the blue jays. Her other favourite activities included crocheting, crafts and watching talent shows. Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Friday, from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. The funeral service will be held in the Westminster United Church on Friday, October 25, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Sheila McLeod officiating. DAISY BEHIEL

August 22, 1919 ~ October 20, 2019

Mrs. Daisy Behiel, beloved wife of the late Mr. Joseph Behiel, passed away peacefully at the Medicine Hat Hospital on Sunday, October 20, 2019, at the remarkable age of 100 years. Daisy was the loving mother of 10 children, Eileen Kiefer, Dorothy Martin, Marvin (Deceased), Wayne Behiel, Melvin Behiel, Brenda Behiel, Lynn Gauthier, Donna Quinn, Wilton Behiel and Debbie Yaholnitsky. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her 33 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, 3 sisters as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Along with her husband, Daisy was predeceased by 2 sisters, a son, 2 grandsons and 3 sons-in-law. Daisy was born on a small farm near Dafoe, Saskatchewan and received her education at Mimer School in Kandahar, Saskatchewan. She married Joseph Behiel at St. Peter’s College in Muenster, Saskatchewan on October 24, 1939. Daisy enjoyed staying active whether fishing, knitting, doing puzzles or playing scrabble. She also enjoyed watching sports, especially curling and hockey. Daisy had strong family values and relished in each opportunity to get the family together, especially reunions. She drew on her strong Roman Catholic faith along with the love of her family as she celebrated a milestone achievement of her 100th birthday! Her memory will forever resonate in the hearts and minds of all those she leaves behind. A Celebration of Daisy’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Friday, October 25, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Father Francis Tran officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery with a time of fellowship thereafter in the Cook Southland Reception Facility.
