1945 ~ LAWRENCE SMITH ~ 2019

Lawrence James “Larry” Smith of Medicine Hat passed away on Thursday, August 15th, 2019 at the age of 74 years. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving partner, Pat Simpson; son, Terry Smith; daughter, Andrea Sanders; five grandchildren; brothers, Everett and Roger; sister, Wendy; and numerous nieces and nephews. Larry was predeceased by both his parents, Bernard and Orma Smith and his sister, Cathy. Larry spent his early years in Redcliff but then moved to Medicine Hat. He loved to play golf and enjoyed watching the Medicine Hat Tigers. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. A Graveside Service will be held at Hillside Cemetery on Thursday, August 22nd, 2019 at 11:00 am with Gary W. Goran officiating. CAROLE LORRAINE GOODMAN

October 10, 1941 – August 13, 2019
God looked around the garden and found the place was bare so he found Carole was needed there in heaven now because he only takes the best. Carole had a short battle with cancer and had family by her side on her journey home. Carole is survived by common law spouse Jim Grieve, children Cindy Dosen (Bob), Cheryl Mangles (John), Aaron Wolfater, Dan Grieve (Cindy) & Tony Grieve (Andrea). Carol is also loved and remembered by a sister in Alberta, Betty Haystead, step children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Daughter, sister, mother, wife, long time curler, BC Ferry worker and avid gardener. No service at request, there will be a family celebration of Life at a later date. Grant Roy Lorenz, beloved son of Art and Lynne Lorenz passed away in Abbotsford, British Columbia on August 8, 2019, at the age of 52 years. He is survived by his children, Bryce Robinson, Sarah Robinson and stepson, Bryon Robinson; the mother of his children, Eileen Robinson (Ken Garrett) all of BC.; brothers, Kevin (Meagan) Lorenz, their children, Travis and Samantha of Sylvan Lake; Brent (Cidnee) Lorenz, their children, Axelle and Abbott of Lethbridge; Aunt Priscilla Laudon and family of BC.; Uncle Jim and Aunt Ronda Langbein of Calgary; Aunt Debbie and Uncle Dale Weisgerber and family of Medicine Hat. Grant was predeceased by his grandparents, Ed and Margaret Lorenz of Medicine Hat, Roy and Alva Langbein of Medicine Hat and Preston Grace Lorenz of Lethbridge. He would always greet you with a smile and that’s the way he will be remembered. Grant will be missed by all who knew him. Emil Leis of Medicine Hat passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2019, at the age of 90 years, beloved husband of the late Martha Leis. He leaves to cherish his memory three children Rose (Richard) Rusk of Vancouver, Allan (Marilyn) Leis of Medicine Hat, and Daniel (Karma) Leis of Lethbridge, his six grandchildren Andrew (Kate), Emily (Craig), Brendan, Craig, Brock (Kristy), Cody (Dominique) and their daughter Olivia, one sister Herta Link, two brothers Gustav (Joyce) Leis, Adolf (Bonnie) Leis, one sister-in-law Frieda Wahl as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Martha Leis on June 13, 2009; his parents Emilie and Gustav Leis, one brother Dieter Leis, one brother-in-law Waldemar Link, and one sister-in-law Rita Leis. Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m and at St. Peter Lutheran Church on Wednesday, from 12:30 – 1:25 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the St. Peter Lutheran Church on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev.
