1927 ~ Agnes Heringer ~ 2019
Agnes Mary Anne Heringer of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Calvin Heringer, passed away on Friday, April 19th, 2019 at the age of 91 years. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Richard (Liz) Heringer, David (Patti) Heringer, Shirley Klaudt and Don (Melanie) Heringer; her grandchildren, Keri Ann, Robert, Sarah, Rachael (Kyle), Stephen, Liam, Cassandra, Vanessa, Michelle, Mark (Jody), Jason (Rhonda), Justin (Kim), Jamie (Vanessa), and Callie; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Jordan, Cherise, Austin, Cohan, Morgan, William, Lila, Nora, Emma, Ashton, Harlow, Ashton, Evan, Amanda, Marrik, Cannon, Jessica, Nash, Janisa, and Mia; great-great grandchildren, Charolette, Kyrie and Kaide; two brothers, Charles (Lyla) Herbst and Robert (Charlotte) Herbst; sisters-in-law, Janet Herbst and Melody Herbst; as well as many nieces and nephews. Agnes was predeceased by her loving husband, Calvin; parents, John and Gladys Herbst; brothers, Frank, Ed, and Aubry; sisters, Delores and Magdalene; and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Agnes was born at Foremost, Alberta on May 29, 1927. She received most of her education at Hoping School, then came to Medicine Hat and attended Garbutt Business College. She then went to work at Maple Leaf Milling Co. and then at Dominion Fruit Co. She met the love of her life Calvin Heringer and they were married May 30, 1949. After her marriage she worked for lawyer W.D. Gow and lawyers, Niblock & Stone. She also worked at the Co-op store for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed cooking, baking, dancing and playing cards with their many friends. Her family, and especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, were the most important to her. Agnes will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Vigil Rites (Prayers) will be held at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL on Friday, April 26th, 2019 at 7:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at HOLY FAMILY PARISH on Saturday, April 27th, 2019, at 1:00 pm. A Private Family Interment will follow in the Roman Catholic Section at Hillside Cemetery. 1928 ~ WILF SCHEUERMAN ~ 2019
Wilfred “Wilf” Lorne Scheuerman of Medicine Hat, beloved husband of the late Margaret Scheuerman, passed away on Tuesday, April 23rd, 2019 at the age of 90 years. Wilf leaves to cherish his memory three sons, Mark (Jenine) Scheuerman, Stewart (Jasmina) Scheuerman and Kurt Scheuerman; four daughters, Tyrril (Don) Tonks, Peggy (Dale) Reimer, Jan (Terry) Seitz and Pam (Dale) Fandrick; fifteen grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren. Wilf was predeceased by his wife, Margaret; his daughter-in-law, Tannis Scheuerman; and his parents, Edward and Elizabeth Scheuerman. A private family service will be held. It is with heavy hearts that the family of Melba Rath announce her peaceful passing in Calgary, AB on Sunday, April 14 at the age of 93.
Melba is lovingly remembered by her children Delphine, Joyce, Terry (Carol), Leslie (Karen); grandchildren Nathan (Kelly), Cindy (Joel), Darren (Angela), Amber (Chris), Christa; great-grandchildren Lily, Sophie, Carson, Malcolm, Eric, Lexus; brother Leonard (Lorraine), and many nieces and nephews. Melba was pre-deceased by her husband Emil, of 53 years, her parents Fred and Mary Schwabe, and brother John.
Melba farmed south of Medicine Hat for many years before retiring and moving into Medicine Hat. Melba will be remembered for her love of her family, farming, gardening, music and nature.
There will be a private Celebration of Life held in Calgary, AB for the immediate family.

Verna Virginia (Treiber) Schaurer of Medicine Hat, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2019, at the age of 76 years, beloved wife of the late Raymond Schaurer. She leaves to cherish her memory three children, Marlowe Schaurer, Murray Schaurer and Maxine (Darrell) Shaw; three grandchildren, Brady Schaurer, Raymond (Brittany) Brackett and their children Audrey and Taylor; Marissa Brackett (Steven Buchanan) and her children Kaya Pardy and Brakelynn Pardy; one sister Vivian (Melvin) Haag; one sister-in-law Violet (Kevin) Dellaire; two nieces Jackie (Fred) McNab and Shauna Haag (Graydon Gehm); one nephew Barry (Launa) Dellaire and her aunt, Hertha Wagner. She was predeceased by her husband Raymond on March 13, 2011; her parents Ida and Friedabert Treiber and one brother-in-law Marvin (Isabel) Schaurer. Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 12 noon – 12:55 p.m. The funeral service will be held in Victory Lutheran Church (2793 Southview Drive SE) on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. STRYKER
STANLEY JOSEPH STRYKER, beloved husband of Wanda Stryker, of Coaldale, passed away peacefully from amyloidosis at the St. Michael's Health Centre – Palliative Care Unit on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at the age of 69 years. Stan was born in Medicine Hat to Glen & Rose Stryker. He was raised in Orion. He worked for Glen Little Construction prior to starting his own business, Stryker Construction, which he owned and operated for 38 years. Stan really enjoyed his work and the people he met. He married Wanda Hoyt on July 13, 1974 in Lethbridge. They lived in Coaldale for 45 years where they had two children, Candace and Tim. When Stan retired a couple of years ago, he and Wanda purchased a home in Yuma, AZ. Their time in Yuma quickly became his passion, as well as RC car racing. He loved camping with his family and working in the yard. Stan & Wanda went on Alaskan, Caribbean and Panamanian cruises, as well as a few trips to Hawaii. He enjoyed traveling and had a playful and adventurous spirit. Stan will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his wife, Wanda, his daughter, Candace Stryker, his son, Tim Stryker, his brothers, Alfred Stryker (Wendy Dreger) and Willy (Gladys) Stryker, his sisters-in-law, Deb Turnbull (Wally Chesko), Brenda (Rob) Taylor, Colleen Hoyt (Ken Babick), plus many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Glen & Rose Stryker and his parents-in-law, Bill & Joyce Hoyt. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you for the amazing care provided at both the Chinook Regional Hospital ICU and St. Michael’s Palliative Care Unit. A Celebration of Stan’s Life will be held at MCKILLOP UNITED CHURCH, 2329 – 15 Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Terry Shillington officiating.
