DEXTER NEIL DRUAR
July 1, 2008 ~ January 18, 2019
It is with the heaviest of hearts that the family of Dexter Druar announces that he skated into in Heaven on Friday, January 18, 2019, at the age of 10 years. Dexter was born July 1, 2008, in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan, a son to proud parents, Bobby and Troy. He grew up in Redcliff attending Margaret Wooding School where he was an exceptional student who was well liked by his fellow students. He had such a pure heart and was quite hilarious – he could make anyone laugh whether it by his jokes or the pranks he pulled! Dexter had a kind and caring nature to him and was a supportive teammate, friend and brother. This handsome little guy had so many wonderful qualities that made him so special… he was smart, generous, hardworking and an amazing athlete who truly excelled at everything he did. Dexter played hockey, soccer, ball hockey and golf. He also liked science, play-station and eating! Most of all, he had a lust for life and created so many lasting memories that he will be forever etched in the hearts of all who knew him! Dexter will be deeply missed and cherished by his mom, Roberta Pickford; dad, Troy (Cheryl) Druar; brothers, Zac Pickford, Jake Druar and Dalton Druar; step-brothers, Rylan and Landon Boyko; maternal grandparents, Donna Pickford and Robert (Darlene) Pickford; paternal grandparents, Ronald and Maxine Lewis as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, friends and teammates. Dexter’s life will be celebrated at the Canalta Centre, 2802 Box Springs Way N.W., Medicine Hat on Monday, January 28, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. You are encouraged to wear your favourite jersey! EDITH GARRECHT
April 26, 1927 – January 18, 2019
The family of Edith Garrecht announces her passing on January 18, 2019 at the age of 91 years. Edith was predeceased by her loving husband Peter on February 10, 2016. She was a devoted mother to Lyle (Debbie) Garrecht, Bonnie (Jim) Andrais and Alice (Skyler) Hinman. Her grandchildren, their spouses, and great grandchildren all adored her for her gentle ways, warm love and kindness. She made each of them feel special. She always enjoyed visits from them as well as her nieces and nephews. Survived by her sister Julie Frey and brother-in-law Ed Tumbach. Predeceased by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank (Ann) Volk and John (Pauline) Volk, sister Anne Tumbach, and brother-in-law, Mike Frey. Predeceased by all of Peter’s siblings and their spouses except for Peter’s sister Agnes Gibson. Edith was born in Mendham, Saskatchewan on April 26, 1927 to Madeline and Fidelis Volk. After high school she became a teacher and taught in one room school houses. She married Peter Garrecht on July 5, 1952, and together they raised their family. Edith taught Grade 2 at St. Louis School from 1962 – 1983. She was one of those tireless moms who did everything for her family. Edith was always cheerful, never complaining. She loved unconditionally and wholeheartedly. She always had a smile on her face and warmly greeted all she met. She had a great sense of humor. She was the best. Due to a decline in her health she moved to Masterpiece Care in November 2017, where she lived until she passed away. Her family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Masterpiece Care who made her always feel not only well cared for but loved. She will be missed. The funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church (238 2nd Ave N.E.) on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Tomy Manjaly celebrant. 1941 ~ 2019
Thomas Delbert Collinge, beloved husband of the late Wilma Collinge, passed away at Sunnyside Nursing Home in Medicine Hat on Monday, January 21, 2019, at the age of 77 years. Tom will be lovingly remembered by his children, Brenda (Joe) Ridley, Mike (Christine) Collinge and Dee (Steve) Keats; grandchildren, Lance Ridley (Jessica), Renae Ridley (Cody), Stephanie Keats, Tyra Keats, Taija Haughian (Tony), Candice Peoples (Cody) and Courtney Peoples; siblings, Marvin (Liz), Alfred (Elle), Brian (Brigette), Barry and Sharon Reich (Perry); 11 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Bob (Linda) Laing as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Tom was predeceased by his wife, Wilma; granddaughter, Shania Keats; parents, Violet (Ed) Bunkosky and Kelly Collinge as well as nieces, Debbie and Teresa Collinge. Tom was born in Maple Creek, SK., on December 1, 1941, and lived in Redcliff for 52 years. He spent many hours hunting, fishing and camping, and in his younger years curling, darts and playing hockey. Tom was a member of the Redcliff Legion for 55 years and enjoyed his 3 o’clock happy hour wherever that may have been. He enjoyed spending time with his family but especially his time with his grandchildren.
