BEIERBACH, Stella
With sadness and sorrow, the family of Stella Mae Trainer Beierbach announces her passing on January 6, 2019. Stella Trainer was born in Medicine Hat, AB on October 27, 1940 and grew up on a small homestead near Manyberries, AB. She married John Herbert Beierbach in 1959 and raised two sons while living in Onefour, AB and then Medicine Hat from 1967. From her humble farm life upbringing, Stella learned to work hard as she did for many years as a cashier and manager of several Medicine Hat businesses. One of her enjoyments during that time was league bowling. Stella was pre-deceased by her husband in 1989 and moved to Okotoks, AB in 1997 where she has lived very independently until her passing. Stella enjoyed baking, making crafts and was very proud of her heritage. Stella was also very involved in the Okotoks & District Seniors Club for many years where she loved to play cards, volunteer and socialize with her many dear friends.
Stella is lovingly remembered by her son, K Evert (Lana) Beierbach and family, Tara, Ethan, Liam & Rosalie, Josh & Claire and Payson & Rose; son, Barry (Allison) Beierbach and family, Krystal, Jo & Lily, Chad & Melissa and Lacey & Daniel; as well as niece, Yvonne Trainer. Besides her husband, Stella was also predeceased by her parents, Claude Carl Trainer and Elsie Jean Trainer (McLuckie) and brother, James Warren Trainer. Stella, our mom, grandma, great grandma, aunt and friend will be lovingly missed and respected forever.
A Celebration of Stella’s Life will be announced at a later date. Many thanks to the care professionals at the Okotoks Urgent Care Center, High River Hospital, Rocky View Hospital, Peter Lougheed Hospital, South Health Campus and her family doctor who cared for Stella in her final weeks.

COOPER
Elizabeth “Betty” Cooper of Etzikom, passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at the age of 97 years, beloved wife of the late Harry Cooper. She leaves to cherish her memory three children, Donna (Dennis) White of Pigeon Lake, Alberta, Tom Cooper of Cayley, Alberta, Allan Cooper of Etzikom and one son-in-law Terry Morris of Terrace, B.C.; eight grandchildren, Serena (James) Makowecki, Nicole White, Danielle (Ian) Paydli, Jim Geiger, Daniel (Jen) Cooper, Brett (Erin) Cooper, Alana Williams, Dean Williams, Dave King; step grandchildren Cher (Ray) and Shayne and ten great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Zona and William Widdop; her husband Harry on January 4, 1989; two daughters, Faye Williams and Pat Morris; two daughters-in-law, Kathy and Darlene; and one brother Bert Widdop. Betty graduated High School in Medicine Hat then went on to get her RN at the Holy Cross Hospital in Calgary. In 1944, she married her childhood sweetheart Harry Cooper and later they moved to Dartmouth Nova Scotia where Harry was stationed. In 1945, they returned to Medicine Hat and back to Etzikom three years later where they settled and raised their family. Betty carried on her nursing skills in Etzikom and area for many years. She was active in the community throughout her life volunteering on both the local school board and the board of the Etzikom Museum. Betty was a caring and compassionate person who was absolutely devoted to her husband and children. She had a strong faith and belief in the power and strength of Jesus Christ’s love and lived that every day. She is now at peace and happy to be with her Lord and saviour. The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. George Mills officiating. Interment will take place in the Etzikom Cemetery at a later date. As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to the Etzikom Museum c/o Box 585, Etzikom, Alberta, T0K 0W0. HAROLD A. DOUGLAS, passed away on December 12, 2018 in Bow Island, Alberta at the age of 71 years.

It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Andrew Douglas Thorn at the age of 54 years. Beloved husband of Christa; father of Samantha, Chelsea, Ethan and Kayden; brother of Lynn (David) Freeland, Sally (Gary) Hedges, and a friend to many. A Celebration of Life will be held for Andy at the Whiskey Creek Pub located at 937 – 13th Street SW in Medicine Hat on Saturday, January 19th from 1pm to 4pm.
