JESSIE MORRISON

Jessie’s life was celebrated this past Saturday as family and friends united in Cook’s chapel. The enchanting sound of Bagpipes filled the air at the end of the service and during a moment of reflection at graveside.

Our family is like a patchwork quilt
Each piece tightly stitched together,
To last in love throughout the years
Our family is forever.

Her Life Lived…
Her Life Cherished…
Her Life Honoured.

MELVIN DENNIS SACKMAN

July 30, 1941 – October 23, 2018
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Melvin Sackman, beloved husband, father and grandfather, at the age of 77 years. His memory will be forever cherished by his son, James Sackman, his wife, Sandy, and their children Danielle and Joel; his daughter, Linda Sackman (Dave Renz); honorary grandson, Mason Powers; his sisters, Diane (Vern) Friemark, Geraldine (Myron) Williamson, Karen (Phillip) Lounsbury; his brother, Rick (Tina) Sackman; his brothers-in-law, Lloyd Murk and Phillip (Noreen) Murk, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Melvin joins his wife of 53 years, Gladys; his parents, Daniel and Elvina; his sister, Victoria; his mother-in-law, Eva Murk; and his sisters-in-law, Fran Murk and Blanche Klink, to sing with the angels. Dad worked many jobs, mostly in construction, and then worked for the city before retiring. If someone ever needed a helping hand, dad was there. Dad loved music and could play just about any instrument. He played in several bands and had many fond memories, especially with the Rangers. Dad had to give it up as his hearing and health got worse, but loved trying to teach Danielle and Joel how to play the accordion. In 1994, dad's life changed immensely with the arrival of his first grandchild. It was like a new lease on life as he was so proud to be a grandpa and had no problem spoiling them as he claimed that was his job. Dad loved camping, going for coffee with his buddies and gardening. Dad took an interest in sports later in his life, as long as it was one that the grandkids were involved in. In dad's last couple of years, he took up painting. You are all invited to join his family and friends to celebrate his life and exchange stories on Saturday, November 3, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Masterpiece Southland Meadows Retirement Home (Southland Drive S.E.). To e-mail an expression of sympathy, please direct it to: pattfh@telusplanet.net subject heading: Melvin Sackman, or you may visit http://www.pattisonfuneralhome.com and leave a message of condolence.
