1925 ~ ANNIE EBEL ~ 2018
ANNIE EBEL was called home to her Heavenly Father on October 5, 2018 at the age of 92. Anxiously awaiting her arrival was her husband, Elmer, who passed away 2015, and infant child, Archie, 1946. Also welcoming her were three sisters, Viola Kirschenman, Julia Serfas and Leah Cash; her parents Emil and Martha (Sulz) Freimark; numerous Brother-in-Laws, and Sister-in-Laws whom she dearly loved; including the Ebel family, John & Frieda, Bill & Elsie, Anna & Ted Aman and Leona Ebel.
Nothing was more important than family to Annie. Left to cherish her life and memories, are four children and their families. Son, Dennis (Judy) and their two daughters, Corinne (Shayne) Collie; Cindy (Tim) Rosser. Daughter, Audrey (Larry) Dahl and their three children, Joel, Laureen (Nick Boulding), Arlene (Scott) Pedden. Son, Glen (Donna) and their three daughters, Nicole (Skya) Kruithof, Mandy and Christina. Daughter, Eileen Boyd (Neil Peters) and her two children Mark (Teri) Coxon, Heather (Chris) Beattie. 10 great grandchildren; Reilly, Isla, Kalem, J.J., Evrett, Annwyn, Sara, Charlotte, Linnea and Camille.
Left to mourn her passing are her siblings, Emma Perrin, Ben Freimark, Clara Heebner, Cora Knoblich, Ella Gueldner, Leonard Freimark and Betty Kramer. Many an evening was shared with each other; potluck suppers, games of Skip-Bo, treats and coffees and always, a daily touch-in email or catch-up chat. Also her brother-in-law, Dave Ebel, and many nieces and nephews.
Annie was born on November 12, 1925 in the Newburg area, around Elkwater. As the oldest of 11 children, she learned at a very young age how to find her way around a kitchen, carry buckets of water from the creek, be a mentor to her younger siblings and how to cook for a threshing crew, or anyone else who happened to need a good meal.
Annie became a new bride on her 19th birthday on a cold and snowy November day, when she promised her love and devotion to Elmer. As a wife, she stood beside him as they began their farming career near Kuest, Saskatchewan. Together, they toiled to raise their family, and in 1972, moved off the farm to Medicine Hat. Although their residence was now in the city, her domestic engineering career continued. Beautiful vegetable gardens, flowers, knephla, buns, cookies, pickles, pies, chocolate cupcakes, (especially for Elmer), canning, and achieving the new milestone of being a grandmother.
Annie’s daily life always included an interlude in prayer and devotions with her Saviour. Her dedication to God was unwavering and now, she rests at the feet of Jesus.
