TOM RUD
1933 ~ 2018
Thomas Hector Rud passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2018, at the age of 84 years. Tom will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Pam (Mike) Hole; son, Darren (Rose Ann) Rud and granddaughter, Hannah Rud (Jeff Newman). He was predeceased by his wife, Minnie (1986); very special friend, Edith Dietrich (2012); parents, Torger and Kirsti Rud; siblings, Agnes Sullivan, Carl Rud, Ben Rud and Norman Rud. Tom was a strong and fiercely independent man who lived life on his own terms until his passing. He was an extremely proficient mechanic and businessman but his true calling was as a father, grandfather, husband and partner. It is unimaginable that he won’t be by for supper and crib each week. A Celebration of Tom’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. with Life Celebrant Gerry Getz officiating. Private interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. To thank the wonderful nurses, doctors and therapists who provided care for Tom and his family, it is requested that in lieu of all food and flowers, a memorial donation in Tom’s name be made directly to the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program c/o Medicine Hat and District Health Foundation, 666 – 5 Street S.W., Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 4H6.
