1926 ~ ELSIE THELMA SLOAN ~ 2018

Elsie Thelma Sloan, Grandma Jack, of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late John “Jack” Sloan, passed away on Tuesday, February 13th, 2018 at the age of 91 years. Elsie leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Kathleen “Kathy” Pilgaard (Doug); her granddaughter, Jennifer Pilgaard; and many friends. Elsie was predeceased by her husband, Jack; her parents, Arthur and Pearl Wessels; as well as her brothers and sisters. Elsie worked as a Pastor ministering alongside her husband, Jack, for many years and in many different locations with the Salvation Army. She loved playing piano and played both the piano and organ at the church for many years. Elsie loved meeting people and rarely forgot a name. She enjoyed doing puzzles, reading, and writing in her spare time. The Funeral Service will be held at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Saturday, February 24th, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. with Captains Ron and Joyce MacDonald co-officiating. DREW McDONALD

1942 ~ 2018
Mr. Drew Robert McDonald, beloved husband of Linda, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018, in Medicine Hat at the age of 76 years. Along with Linda, Drew leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Robert McDonald (Debbie Olson) and his children, Matthew, Benjamin and Alexa; his daughter, Rhonda Rasmussen (Alain Gagnon) and her children, Kimberly Evanoff and Dawnelle Rasmussen as well as his sister, Judy Gillis. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Verlie McDonald. Drew was born on January 19, 1942, in Eston, SK and completed high school in Moosomin, graduating in 1960. He married Linda Lloyd Stewart on December 29, 1962, at St. Andrew’s United Church in Regina, SK. Drew managed Beaver Lumber in Provost, AB and in 1972, he ventured into business and purchased the Esso Bulk Dealership. Drew was always community minded and was generous in nature and gave freely to charity. He was a proud member of the Al Azhar Shriners and the Scottish Rite, both in Medicine Hat. Some of Drew’s greatest achievements include being on the Al Azhar Motor Patrol and with his dear wife, Linda, the celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary in 2012. With his outgoing and humorous personality he enjoyed making people laugh as a clown (tying balloons and doing magic tricks) and even received PNSCA Clown Awards! He also enjoyed playing golf and watching Canadian football… especially if the Saskatchewan Roughriders were playing. Drew was a wonderful man who will be dearly missed by his family and friends. HENRY WICKENHEISER

1928 ~ 2018
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Mr. Henry Anthony Wickenheiser, beloved husband of Daisy, announce his peaceful passing at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Friday, February 16, 2018, at the age of 89 years. Henry will be greatly missed by his wife, Daisy of 59 years; his children, Blaine (Les) Wickenheiser of Hays, Grace (Eric) Hansen of Dunmore, Ryan Wickenheiser of Sylvan Lake, Kathy Villemaire of Medicine Hat, Michelle Melnychuk (Rob) of Rolling Hills, Barb Wickenheiser (Roger) of Medicine Hat; 19 grandchildren as well as 23 great- grandchildren. Henry was pre-deceased by twin granddaughters, Jenna and Abbey; parents, Michael and Grace Wickenheiser; 12 siblings, numerous brother and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Vigil Prayers will be recited at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Friday, February 23, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Parish, 1451 Strachan Road S.E., Medicine Hat on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Father Philip Le celebrant. The Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
