BARBARA RIEGER

1955 ~ 2018
It is with a heavy heart that Tom announces his beloved wife of 41 years, Barbara Joan Rieger, passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at the age of 62 years. Along with Tom, Barb leaves to cherish her memory their sons, Cole and Joshua; parents, Robert and Joyce Strachan; siblings, Donna (Bruce) Rieger and Bill (Kelly) Strachan; Tom’s family: parents, Edwin and Violet Rieger; brother, Larry (Karen) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her nephew, Brian Rieger. Barb was born in Edmonton on October 6, 1955 and moved to Medicine Hat in 1966. She finished high school in Medicine Hat before obtaining her diploma as a registered nurse at the Medicine Hat College. Barb loved her chosen career as was evident in her 35 continuous years of care in geriatrics. After retiring, she spent her days reading and playing with her dogs. A Celebration of Barb’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. with Life Celebrant Gerry Getz officiating. Edith Sullivan of Medicine Hat passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at the age of 92 years, beloved wife of the late Kenneth Sullivan. She leaves to cherish her memory two children, Marvin (Delores) Baumann of Medicine Hat, Linda Cotten of Redcliff; four step children, Sharon Enslen, Pat Montean both of Medicine Hat, Danny Sullivan, Irene Sullivan both of Sechelt, British Columbia; three grandchildren, Wanda Baumann, Elliott Cotten (Heather Steinkey), Melissa (Dwayne Young) Cotten-Young; eight step grandchildren, Paul Dalla Longa, Rob (Selene Giesinger) Dalla Longa, Debra (Randy) Paskall, Kenny (Jodie) Wigard, Kelly (Stephanie) Enslen, Nicole (Dave) Yaworsky, Ivan Sullivan, Clayton (Alex) Sepke; thirteen great grandchildren, James Dakota, Brittany, Courtney, Corwin, Kimberley, Aisley, Evan (Katie), Dennis, Jordan, Chase, Jordyn, Searra, Damon; five step great grandchildren, Katie, Matthew, Mitchell, Brantley, Taylor; two great great grandchildren, Ava and Rylee; one sister, Caroline Burkhardt, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Magdalena and Frederick Schneider; her husband, Kenneth Sullivan; one son in law, Dennis Cotten, one step daughter, Helen Wigard; three brothers, Fred Schneider, Reinhold (Hilda) Schneider, Christian (Nellie) Schneider; two sisters, Annie Merrin, Elizabeth Parnell; and one step granddaugher, Roxanne Kambeitz.
