CHRISTOPHER SIDNEY MANN "BUD"

Chris was born on December 10, 1972 to Mervyn and Hazel Mann of Weyburn, Saskatchewan. He was the youngest of five. Chris attended Haig School, Weyburn Junior High and then graduated from Weyburn Comprehensive School in 1991. He was a busy boy who excelled at many sports. Hockey was always his favorite playing on many rep hockey teams in his younger years. He was always a team player who played with a lot of heart and was a joy to watch. He also played for the Midale Mustangs in the Senior League. When Chris was done playing competitive hockey, he decided to become a referee, which he did part time for many years. He enjoyed tennis and you would find him many days on the tennis courts playing during the summer months. He also enjoyed fishing, boating and water sports. As Chris got older, he added golf to his list of favorite sports and worked as a Greenskeeper at Weyburn Golf Club for a few seasons. His older siblings loved spending time with him and took him on many outings and trips. One of his favorites was his first Edmonton Oilers game at the age of twelve. He was a huge Oilers fan then and never gave up on them. On October 30, 1995 he became a father to a beautiful baby girl, Havyn. She has been the apple of his eye ever since. He truly adored her. Chris was a patient, kind, understanding and devoted father. The last few years he has had the absolute joy of being a grandparent to two beautiful grandchildren, Rylen and Rose. He loved to make them laugh and smile, which was easy for him to do with his forever smile and humour. Chris loved the time that he got to spend with them. After living in Edmonton for a couple of years, he settled in Medicine Hat. He worked at Lakeside Packers and Form-Tech Machining and then settled into the oilfield industry. Chris worked for Schlumberger, Calfrac and was working for Iron Horse Energy Services until his passing. He enjoyed the times with his fellow crew members. In January 2015, Chris re-connected with an old school friend, Carla Knibbs, who became the love of his life. They only had a few short years, but enjoyed every moment that they had together. They were to become husband and wife in a few short weeks. Carla’s son, Brock, also found a connection with Chris, who quickly accepted the role as his devoted father figure. For everyone who had the honour of knowing Chris, you are truly blessed. For all of his family and friends who love him, there will always be a big hole in our hearts and in our lives. You are now our Angel Bud. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Thursday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. and on Friday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at THE ESPLANADE, 401 – 1 Street SE, on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. with Dr. Shane P.
