1939 ~ MIRIAM PATRICIA HAAS ~ 2017
Miriam passed away peacefully on Wednesday June 28, 2017, at the age of 77, at the Riverview Care Center in Medicine Hat with her sister and brother by her side. She was predeceased by her parents Emma and Emil Haas; sister Charlotte (Sheldon) Jesse; brother and sister in-law Ronald and Marlene Haas. She is survived by her sister, Brenda (Gary) Short of Medicine Hat; and brother Morley (Carol) Haas of Qualicum Beach B.C.; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A graveside service will take place with Life Celebrant Lynett Getz officiating, on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 11 am at Hillside Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet inside the cemetery gates after 10:30 a.m. A very special thank you to all the staff at Riverview Care Center for their love, devotion and care of Miriam. 1946 ~ NATALIE BAIER ~ 2017
Natalie Baier, beloved wife of Clem Baier of Medicine Hat, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 21st, 2017 at the age of 70 years. Natalie also leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Danette Serr and Kelly Hill; two grandchildren, Matthew and Madison Kitts; one sister, Catherine (Allan); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Natalie was predeceased by her parents, Alexander and Helen Skrypytz; one brother, Bill Skrypytz; and one sister, Mary (Ron) Torgerson. Natalie loved gardening and especially enjoyed her beautiful yard and flowers. She also loved animals and had a special place in her heart for her cats, Boo Boo and Lola. Natalie had a great sense of humour and was a loving mother and wife. Her fashion sense was second to none as she always liked to be well dressed. Natalie had a great impact on the lives of all those she met and will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff and doctor on shift on Palliative Care on Friday, July 21st, for their great care. A Private Family Time of Remembrance will be held. Lila Margaret Shupe, beloved wife of John “Jack” Shupe of Medicine Hat, passed away on Sunday, July 23rd, 2017. Lila also leaves to cherish her memory four children, Judy (Denis Gagnon) Shupe, Jill (Keith Gladu) Shupe, Jane Shupe, Jerry (Nicole) Shupe; four grandchildren, Morgan, Jessica (Dave), Chelsea, and Megan (Chad); three great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Emma, and Easton; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Lila was predeceased by her parents, George and Lillian Burge; and her brother, Jim Burge. Lila's journey began in Elkhorn, Manitoba and continued with stops in Yellow Grass, Weyburn, Regina, Medicine Hat, Victoria, Lloydminster and Biggar with a second stop in Medicine Hat in 1989, making forever friends along the way. Lila will be remembered for her tremendous strength of character, kindness, fun-loving ways, generosity and devotion to her family and friends. We will especially remember our many "happy" hours talking and laughing around the kitchen table. Lila will be missed and will live forever in our hearts. Rosalie Ohlhauser of Calgary, AB died peacefully on Sunday, July 23rd, 2017 at South Health Campus. Born May 4th, 1924 in Serbka, Ukraine, Rosalie loved being with family and friends, tending her flowers, and was always happy to enjoy new experiences. She was a nurturing wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Rosalie is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Robert Ohlhauser; Children: Anita O’Reilly (Jim Paterson), Werner (Viola) Ohlhauser, Gabriella Ohlhauser (Alan Townsend), Mark (Brenda) Ohlhauser; grandchildren: Natalie Ohlhauser (Chuck Christensen) and their children, Eric & Lauren Christensen; Sean O’Reilly (Jaime) and their children, Madyson & Evan; Erin O’Reilly (Wayne Berube) and their son, Brady; Ryan Ohlhauser; Jennifer (Shaun) Hobin and their children: Justin, Kolby & Keirra; Kale (Laura) MacCalder and their children, Kaleah & Kevilyn.
