LYNN FRANK

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend Lynn Frank, 66, died on April 23, 2017 in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Lynn and her devoted husband, Erhardt Frank, lived in Medicine Hat for their nearly 45 years of marriage. Together they raised two daughters, Richele Frank and Jillian Frank (Mark Volk). Lynn was born on July 16, 1950 in Kentville, Nova Scotia. She was the second of four children. In 1970, Lynn completed her cytology training in Halifax, and soon after moved west to commence her lifelong career at the Medicine Hat Diagnostic Laboratory. She was proud to be the lab manager for over 20 years. In recent years, she shamelessly spoiled her grandchildren Lily and Joey Volk, who will dearly miss their Nana Lynn and her frequent visits to Vancouver. An avid golfer, reader and competitive bridge player, Lynn’s real and abiding passions were her family and friends. Lynn loved being active and walked daily no matter the season or weather. She selflessly loved and cared for those close to her, and shared her strength, wisdom and positivity. She is survived by her siblings, Marlene Stones (John Stones), Joan Macdonald (David Macdonald) and Alan Slack, mother-in-law Erna Frank, goddaughters Hilary Stones and Kristin Liefso, and her nieces, nephews, relatives and many cherished friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joyce and Rudolph Slack, and father-in-law, Adolf Frank. Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Victory Lutheran Church (2793 Southview Drive SE) with Diaconal Minister Lila deWaal. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Victory Lutheran Church Youth Group. In memory of Lynn, her family asks that you spend time with your children, take a walk with your loved ones, and raise a toast to enduring friendships, lifelong and beyond. Her enduring and best advice was that “what counts in life is not the mere fact that we live but the difference we make in the lives of others.” To e-mail an expression of sympathy, please direct it to: pattfh@telusplanet.net subject heading: Lynn Frank, or you may visit http://www.pattisonfuneralhome.com and leave a message of condolence.
