She will be greatly missed by her husband of 53 years, Stan; her three daughters: Michelle (Brice Koenig), Barb, and Krista (Jason Camp); and her grandson, Dylan Koenig. Mr. Stephen Lester King, beloved husband of 47 years to Ann King (nee Brake), passed away peacefully at the St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice in Medicine Hat on Sunday, November 13, 2016, at the age of 68 years. Along with Ann, Stephen leaves to cherish his memory: two children, Shane (Sharon) and Sherri (Rocky); four grandchildren, Courtney, Taylin-Ann, Xavier-David and Dahlia. He is also survived by two brothers, Bruce (Denise) and Terry (Michelle); one sister, Christine; three sisters-in-law, Jean, Joan and Effie as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. He was predeceased by his parents, Lester and Martha King; step-father, Maxwell Wiscombe; brothers, Raymond, Ambrose and Samuel as well as five siblings in infancy. Stephen Lester King was born to proud parents, Lester and Martha King on July 23, 1948, in Creston North, Newfoundland. This is also where he married the love of his life, Anne Marie Brake, on July 11, 1969. He enjoyed his career as a fine wood worker, using his carpentry skills to help many throughout the years. In his younger years, Stephen enjoyed playing hockey. Later in life, he enjoyed watching boxing and hockey, especially his favorite sporting team of all time, the Montreal Canadiens! Stephen was a loving, caring, compassionate, funny and friendly person who was devoted to his family, friends and especially to God. He set an example of honesty, integrity and generosity with everything he did, especially through his service for his church. Although nothing topped spending time with his grandchildren, Stephen enjoyed a visit with family and friends or even just some time spent fiddling around with all of his many tools.
