KUHN

Anne Kuhn of Medicine Hat passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at the age of 98 years, beloved wife of the late Peter Kuhn. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Carl (Pat) Kuhn, Jerry (Barb) Kuhn, Colleen (Elton) Steinley and daughter-in-law, Lorraine Kuhn; twelve grandchildren, Candace and her children, Riley and Reese; Sheldon (LeeAnn) and their children, Kaylin, Shaina, Brittany; Darren (Annette) and their children, Brendan, Brookelyn and Morgan; Jarrod (Carolyn) and their children, Chantelle (Landon) and their children, Hudson and Charlie; and Tyrel (Chynna), Ashton (Randi) and Darci (Craig); Joeleen (Todd) and their children, Teren and Hailey; Jaime (Roger) and their children, Reed and Hunter; Jordan (Yolanda) and their children Ava and William; Kristie (Ron) and their children Joel, Jaylene; Kathy (Joel) and their children, Jaida, Presley and Emerson; Mark; Kole (Carey) and their son Karter; and Kellan (Stacey) and their daughter, Aspen. She was predeceased by her foster parents, Paul and Anna Zubot; her husband, Peter in 2003, and one son, Irwin in 2010. Anne was raised in Mendham, Saskatchewan and on May 4, 1936, she married Peter Kuhn. They began farming in Estuary, Saskatchewan until moving to Acadia Valley in 1946. It was there that they continued to farm and raise their family until retiring to Medicine Hat in 1975. Mom was a true farm wife. Everything was grown or raised on the farm. It was a team effort and between Mom and Dad, they worked together to supply our family with all that was needed. Anne was a dedicated member of her community. She was a CWL member since 1951, belonged to the Acadia Valley Community Club for over 30 years, was a member of the Home and School Association and a Brownie and Girl Guide leader. Mom was an accomplished seamstress. We displayed many of her projects in our homes, from knitting to crocheting and quilting. During her time in Medicine Hat, she belonged to St. Pat’s Quilting Club well into her 90's. Her flower garden and indoor plants were always a source of joy to her, but she always wanted to know how much it had rained or whether harvest was done. She was still a farm wife at heart. Mom moved to “The Wellington” in 2006, and loved her life there for over 10 years. She made many friends and enjoyed her independence. She was the nucleus of our family. We will always remember Mom with love, for her style, sense of humour, and devotion to her family. Family and friends will gather for prayers in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated in Holy Family Parish (1451 Strachan Rd SE) on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Albert Sayson celebrant. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, in memory of Anne, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
