1995 ~ WEISS ~ 2016
Donovan Rory Weiss of Medicine Hat, passed away on Saturday, July 16th, 2016 at the age of 20 years. Donovan leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Dale and Chandra Weiss; his brother, Darrick Weiss; his sister, Deanna Weiss; his special friend, Trinity; and his grandparents, Gerda Aasman and Don & Margo Weiss. Donovan was predeceased by his grandparents, Henry Aasman and Muriel & Manny Raber; as well as his uncle, Rory Aasman. Donovan was born on November 3rd, 1995 in Medicine Hat. He attended Ross Glen School, Irvine School and Eagle Butte High School. Donovan enjoyed hunting, fishing, farm life, and his daily trips to Tim Horton’s. A special thank you to the Kurpjuweit family for their interest in Donovan. An informal graveside service will be held at SAAMIS PRAIRIE VIEW CEMETERY, 5160 Gershaw Drive SW, on Wednesday, July 20th, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Steve Pahl officiating. Betty Ann Prud’homme passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at the age of 67 years, beloved wife of Roger Prud’homme of Medicine Hat. She also leaves to cherish her memory her children, Kent (Libby Barber) Burke, Shauna (Steve Hannah) Burke, Brent (Tracy Ranni) Burke, Crystal Jacques, Adriel (Kim) Prud’homme and Jean-Ives (Cara) Prud’homme; her grandchildren, Brian (Jenna) Broomfield and their son, Carter; Jenna (Jeff Dickson) and their children, Deacon and Taylor; Tara (Mark Wade) Broomfield; Dylan Auchstetter; Bruce Archibald; Kole Archibald; Shanyce Burke; Ethan Prud’homme; Alyssa Prud’homme; Seth Prud’homme; and Lillyx Prud’homme; her brother, Robert (Charlene) Doney; her sister, Debbie (Keith Coumont) Nightingale as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Edwin and Elva Doney and one great granddaughter, Taylor. Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and for one hour before the service. The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. with Life Celebrant, David Townsend. Everyone is asked to please dress casual. REIMER
Johann “John” Reimer of Medicine Hat passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2016, at the age of 88 years. He was predeceased by the two most amazing women in the world, his wife of over 60 years, Esther, in 2012 and his sister Martha Sawatzky in 2014. He leaves to cherish his memory his five children, Faye (Mac) Shaw, Ron (Karen) Reimer, Janet (Harold) Schwandt, Kathy (Tom) Pahl and Mel (Shari) Reimer; his grandchildren, LaDawne (Mike) Boehlig, Carla Shaw (Dwayne Deschamps), Jeremy Shaw (Sherry LeBlanc), Mike Reimer, Ryan (Sara) Reimer, Kerrie Schwandt, Jackie (Jamie) Taylor, Tyrel (Heather) Pahl, Chance (Vanessa) Pahl, Dayton (Janelle) Reimer, Austin Reimer and Page Reimer; his great grandchildren, Justin Shaw, Braden Deschamps, Christopher Shaw, Jacqueline LeBlanc, Taylor and Kamryn Reimer, RJ and Tuff Reimer, Donovan Taylor, Hally and Evyn Pahl, Adelaide and Ransom Pahl; his sister-in-law, Hilda Spenst as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by one great-granddaughter, Emma Pahl. John was born in Carsland, Alberta on October 13, 1927. He managed the Singer Sewing Machine store in Medicine Hat for over 20 years and sold vehicles for Gardner Motors for many more. He had an entrepreneurial spirit and bought and managed several small businesses over the years. John was an avid reader, enjoyed watching hockey and baseball, solving crossword and sudoku puzzles, exploring garage sales and drinking Coke. He loved nothing better than a day trip and spent many hours driving the back roads and highways of Southern Alberta, often stopping for an hour or so of fishing. He greatly appreciated a good chat with a friend and especially enjoyed the company of his family and entertaining his grandchildren with stories and reminiscing. Up until the last fewmonths of his life, John remained active and independent, spending the last three weeks being cared for at St. Joseph’s Carmel Hospice. The void he left is tangible. John’s family will lay him to rest at St. Margaret’s Cemetery with a private memorial service. To e-mail an expression of sympathy, please direct it to:
