ALEX KOENIG

1925 ~ 2016
Mr. Alexander Barnabas Koenig, beloved husband of Mrs. Mary Lily “Missy” Koenig, passed away peacefully at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Sunday, July 10, 2016, at the age of 91 years. Following Alex’s retirement from a lifetime of service with the C.P.R., he joined Missy’s band and played with her at many venues in Medicine Hat and surrounding communities. Alex will be forever remembered in the hearts of his wife, Mary Lily; step-daughters; Wanda (Rick) Carlson, Karen (Wayne) Triebwasser, Lisa Maria “Mia” (Ken) Nielsen, Tammy McFadden; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Merle (Darlene) Koenig as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Ottilia Koenig; brother, Edward “Ted” Koenig and sisters, Shirley Raven and Lucille Archer. A Memorial Service honouring Alex’s life will be held at St. John’s Presbyterian Church, 502 – 2 Street S.E., Medicine Hat on Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Dr. Nancy Cocks officiating. KEN KRAMER

1933 ~ 2016
Kenneth Lavern Kramer passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 10, 2016, at the age of 83 years. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Betty” and daughters, Bonnie (Andy) Weishaar and Karen (Don) Philpott along with four grandchildren, Kyle and Rochelle Weishaar and Sarah and Garth Philpott. He is also survived by his sister, Iris Audy and sister-in-law, Esther Kramer. Ken was predeceased by his first wife, Rena Tilleman; parents, Reinhold and Olga Kramer; brother, Ed Kramer and his brother-in-law, Jess Audy. Ken was born on March 29, 1933, in Irvine and lived in Medicine Hat where he worked as an electrician at IXL Industries until his retirement. He loved to travel to Mexico as well as taking his grandkids to Fairmont Hot Springs. In his leisure time, Ken bowled, golfed, played pool, did woodworking and enjoyed sipping on a glass of brandy with his friends and family. In honouring Ken’s wishes, no formal funeral service will be held.
