1931 ~ STROH ~ 2015
Lena Victoria Stroh of Medicine Hat, quietly and peacefully left our world and went to the arms of God on Saturday, December 19th, 2015 at the age of 84 years. 1934 – GEBHARDT – 2015
Donna Myrta Mary June Gebhardt (nee Clubine) of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of Sig Gebhardt, passed away on Friday December 4, 2015 at the age of 81 years. Donna leaves to cherish her memory her husband Sig, son Ian (Elizabeth) and four grandchildren Benjamin, Simon, Luke and Rebecca. Donna was predeceased by her son Randolph, parents Ward and Myrta Clubine and brother Lou (Agnes). Donna was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, where she predominantly worked at Ontario Hydro in the actuarial, treasury, and research library departments until her retirement after over 25 years. She also held the position of union representative. Donna was a natural at organization. At age 18 she was a leader for the teen and young adult dancing nights at the Central Toronto YMCA. It was there that she met Sig to whom she would be married for 59 years. They were an inseparable couple, teaching ballroom dancing and on weekends building a country home in East Gwillimbury to which they moved in 1977. They lived in Medicine Hat for the past six years to be closer to their grandchildren. A private burial has already been completed. Thank you to the staff of Medicine Hat Regional Hospital for their care and support.
1938 ~ VARGA ~ 2015
Eileen Mae Varga of Redcliff, passed away on Friday, December 18th, 2015 at the age of 77 years. Eileen leaves to cherish her memory her son, Jerry (Cynthia) Varga of Medicine Hat; her daughter, Michele (Dave) McKim of Leduc; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Eileen was predeceased by her husband, Luke Varga; her mother, Madeline LaBoucane; and one sister, Verla Dortch. Eileen was a hardworking woman who loved playing bingo and volunteering there and at the Red Cross. She loved being outdoors, especially camping at Moyie Lake, BC. Her family was extremely important to her and she truly enjoyed watching her very active grandchildren at their various activities. Eileen was proud of all of her grandchildren and had a special relationship with each one. She was a special lady and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. The Funeral Service will be held at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Monday, December 28th, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. with Gary W. Goran officiating. ISABEL RODNUNSKY (nee SHEIN)
August 16, 1931 – November 26, 2015
The family of the late Isabel Rodnunsky, formerly of Medicine Hat, are sad to announce her passing on November 26, 2015 in Edmonton Alberta at the age of 84.
Isabel is survived by son Peter (Carol) and grandson Alexander; son Lawrence (Lauren) all of Edmonton; brother Bernie (Elaine) of Moose Jaw; sister-in-law Honor (Sid) of Calgary; sister-in- law Marlene of Vancouver; plus numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Isabel was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Harold who passed away in 2010; her brother Mendy Shein who passed away in 1999 ; and her parents.
Isabel was born in Regina Saskatchewan in 1931 and lived with her family in Moose Jaw Saskatchewan before moving to Calgary and then Winnipeg. She married Harold in 1959 and the two of them moved around the Alberta, living in Bow Island and Leduc, before settling in Medicine Hat when her husband accepted a teaching job at Medicine Hat High School in 1967. While living in Medicine Hat, Isabel worked at M.H. College as the administrative assistant for the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences from 1976 until her retirement in 1988. Isabel was active in the Medicine Hat Jewish Community, and Business and Professional Women's Association (where she served as president for one year). Isabel also ran for Public School Trustee.
In her spare time, Isabel enjoyed cooking and baking. She baked and decorated the Medicine Hat High School St. Pat's Tea cake from 1967 – 1987 inclusive. She also baked numerous birthday, anniversary, wedding, and general cakes for friends, co-workers, and their families for many years.
Isabel spent her retirement years in Edmonton with her family and continued volunteering for numerous religious and secular organizations up to her decline in health earlier this year.
She will be missed but never forgotten. The family asks if you wish to acknowledge Isabel's passing, please make a donation to the Canadian Liver Foundation or the charity of your choice.

Joan R. Mercer, wife of the late Dr. Alexander Mercer passed away in Lethbridge on Saturday, December 12, 2015.
At Joan's request, there was no formal funeral service.
