1919 ~ NEEDRUM ~ 2015

Lillian Adella Needrum of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Christian Needrum, passed away on Sunday, November 29th, 2015 at the age of 96 years. Lillian leaves to cherish her memory her three children, Carol (Wes) Budd, Marilyn Baker, and Bob Needrum; two grandchildren, Elizabeth (Trent) Wilkie and Christopher Baker; and one great-grandson, Opsahl Wilkie. Lillian was predeceased by her husband, Christian Needrum; her parents, Andrew and Louise Opsal; son-in-law, Kirt Baker; and two brothers, George (Irene) Opsal and Orville (Marggie) Opsal. Lillian was born in Hatton, Saskatchewan on October 9th, 1919 and was raised in the Golden Prairie area. She attended Thunder Hill School. On January 4th, 1943, Lillian married Christian in Medicine Hat and they resided in Maple Creek, Swift Current and Weyburn, Saskatchewan before retiring to Medicine Hat. Lillian was a member of the Rebekah's and the Eastern Star. She loved to cook and hosted many gatherings for her family and friends, whom she truly loved. Margaret "Peg" Dorothy Dudley-Rees of Redcliff, went to join her family on Tuesday, November 24th, 2015 at the age of 90 years. Peg leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Carol Susan (Larry) Mugleston of Calgary, AB; three grandchildren, Tia (Colin) Butler of Georgetown, ON, Shayn Mugleston (Tara Malo) of Edmonton, AB, and Lannie (Andrea) Mugleston of Prince Albert, SK; seven great-grandchildren, Brett, Ty, and Kealey Butler of Georgetown, Chantel Malo of Edmonton, Hanna, Sadie, and Lucas Mugleston of Prince Albert; one niece, Judy Brown and family, David and Lisa of Wales, UK; as well as many cousins in England and Wales. Peg was predeceased by her first husband, Melvyn "Mick" Dudley in 1987; sister-in-law, Vera Rees in 1995; second husband, William "Bill" Rees in 2006; her parents, Elizabeth Keal in 1948 and Edward Keal in 1972; two brothers, Robert Keal in 1978 and Dick Keal in 2001; and sister-in-law, Jan Keal in 2013. Her family would like to thank Home Care and the nurses and staff of the 4th and 5th Floors of the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital for their excellent care given to Mom and Nana. Howard Milton Stegen of Medicine Hat, beloved husband of the late Betty Stegen, passed away on Tuesday, December 1st, 2015 at the age of 81 years. 1957 ~ DANIELS ~ 2015

Keith John Daniels, beloved husband of Vallerie “Vall” Daniels of Medicine Hat, passed away on Tuesday, December 1st, 2015 at the age of 57 years. Keith also leaves to cherish his memory one son, Ryan Daniels; one daughter, Renee Daniels; two grandchildren, Mark and Nathaniel; two brothers, Mark (Jo) and Wayne (Rachel); three sisters, Bev (Colin) Smith, Gill (Martin) Harford and Kim (John) Bradbury; several cousins, including Anita Keen; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Keith was predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Maureen Daniels. Keith was born in England on December 10th, 1957. He married Vall Popel in Medicine Hat on May 26th, 1980. Keith was a member of the British Military in the Vehicle Specs T-cards and the Royal Army Ordnance Corps and worked at BATUS Suffield. He was a great lover of music and all sports, especially the Aston Villa Football Club. Family and friends meant everything to Keith and he loved to joke and poke fun. His favourite quote was "upstairs for thinking, downstairs for dancing". A Private Family Time of Remembrance will be held. 1959 ~ HOLDEN ~ 2015

Martyn "Marty" Frank Holden, beloved husband of Norma Holden of Medicine Hat, passed away on Tuesday, December 1st, 2015 at the age of 56 years. Marty also leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Leigh (Erin) Holden and Cyle (Ashley) Holden; one daughter, Lacey (Dean) Tumback; his father, Frank (Sheila) Holden; eleven grandchildren, Cail, Ashleigh, Amie and their mother, Dara, Kaeden, Sara, Weston, Baylin, Ashton, Axel, plus one!, and Abigail; two brothers, Paul (Leslie) Holden and Peter (Rachel) Holden; five sisters, Denise (Ken) Warren, Lucille (Steve) Kittle, Isabella Carmen, Susan Price and Gina (Pete) Holden; mother-in-law, Jean Levair; sister-in-law, Jo Anne (Mark) Herbster; brother-in-law, Rodney Foster; nephews, Darryl, Bradley, Nelson, Richard and their families; as well as numerous nieces and nephews on both sides. Marty was predeceased by his mother, Elizabeth "Jean" Holden; and his grandfather, John Cail Hannay. Marty was born June 27th, 1959 in Victoria, BC number 6 of 8 kids. Marty spent his early years in Victoria where he met the love of his life, Norma. They started their love story June 14th, 1980 which sent them on many adventures. Blessed with their first child, Leigh in 1980 followed by Lacey in 1981 and rounded out the bunch with Cyle in 1984. Marty’s family was everything to him and always came first. Marty faced many battles throughout his life but still managed to be a dedicated husband, father and provider. When he wasn’t working you knew you could always find him at the golf course or with his camera looking for the perfect “shot”. Marty will be forever missed by all who knew him. Margaret Hazel Bodiou of Medicine Hat, passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2015, at the age of 89 years, beloved wife of the late Paul Bodiou. Jack Ralph Lerner of Medicine Hat, passed away on Monday, November 30, 2015, at the age of 91 years, beloved wife of the late Hilde Lerner; two sons, Dale (Barb) Lerner and Tom (Sherry) Lerner and their mother Marta Lerner; one granddaughter Monica (daughter, Zoe), two stepgrandsons, Keith and Erin; three brothers, Dick (Tillie), Frank (Anne) and Alex; one sister Margaret Shaw; Hilda’s son Eric (Sue) Hoffman as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Anna Lerner; his 2nd wife Hildi (Hoffman); three brothers, Adam, Ted and Jerome and three sisters, Josephine, Tilli and Ann. Jack was born on August 3, 1924, in Fox Valley, Saskatchewan. He ranched in Saskatchewan until the 1940's, when he moved to Medicine Hat. In 1966, he moved his family to Ontario where he farmed. In 1973, they moved back to Medicine Hat and he began working at Western Co-op Fertilizer retiring when they closed the plant. Jack could fix and or make anything and after retirement he made a living as a handyman. He met Hilda and they were married in Banff and spent the next 27 years together. Jack and Hilda loved to travel and saw the world together. A private family funeral service will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. RONALD "RON" HAROLD TORGERSON

June 16th, 1936 ~ November 30th, 2015
On Monday, November 30th, 2015, Ron went to be with his beloved daughter, Debbie. Ron is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Mary; one daughter, Rhonda (Brad) Pearson; two sons, Mark Torgerson and Len Torgerson (fiancée, Lynzey); seven grandchildren, Kara (Dave) Clarke, Scott (Janine) Mastel, Jessica Mastel, Jennessa Torgerson, Jamie Torgerson, Ryder Torgerson and Stephanie (Anthony) Kerr; four great grandchildren; one brother, Carl (Helina) Torgerson; two sisters, Cathy (John) Sutter and Nattacia (Jurgen) Mantei; one sister-in-law, Melinda Torgerson; and Shelly Prins, who was like a daughter to him; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ron was predeceased by his daughter, Debbie Torgerson; his parents, Harold and Jessie Torgerson; and one brother, Randy Torgerson. Ron was born in Medicine Hat, the only child of Jessie Bailey and Harold Torgerson. He lived in Foremost for the first 6 years of his life. They then moved to Lethbridge for 3 years before moving to Medicine Hat in 1945 where he had lived ever since. When Ron was in high school in 1953 he worked at the Assiniboia Hotel as a bellhop where he met celebrities such as Jean Audrey, Duke Ellington, Slim Pickens to name a few. Ron and Mary were high school sweethearts and in February 1955 they were married. They then moved to Foremost where he worked for Medhurst Drilling for a year then moved back to Medicine Hat and started working for the railroad where Ron and Mary started their family; Debbie in December 1956, Rhonda in August 1958, Len in September 1961 and Mark in July 1969. Ron worked for the railroad in the yard from 1956 to 1966, the last 7 years as a Yard Foreman. He then went to work for the City Gas Production Department working on the City's drilling rig in the summer and as a labour in the winter and after about 3 years he was promoted to a crew chief. Ron went back to school taking a 4 year Gas Technology correspondence course. In about 1976, Ron was promoted to Gas Production Superintendent, a position he held until he retired in 2001. After his family he really enjoyed all sports especially golf, curling and baseball. He had won golf tournaments and club championships at Connaught, Redcliff and Brooks Golf Clubs and at the Medicine Hat Golf and Country Club where he had been a member for over 30 years having a hole-in-one in 1993. Ron curled for many years being on a team scoring an eight ender in 1972. When his son Mark was around 9 years old his son Len and he coached the Medicine Hat Oilers little league baseball team, winning the city championship in 1979. Ron, Mary and the children spent many days camping at Elkwater, starting out tenting, then a small trailer and finally a motor home which they took on many trips around Alberta, USA and British Columbia going to Vancouver for Expo 1986. The love of Ron's life was his wife, children and their siblings who he was so proud of. The Funeral Service will be held at Saamis Memorial Funeral Chapel, 1 Dunmore Road SE, on Saturday, December 5th, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Gary W. Goran officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
