Helen Anderson of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Gordon Anderson, passed away on Monday, November 16th, 2015 at the age of 95 years. Helen leaves to cherish her memory her children, Lawrence "Larry" (Donna), Don (Linda), and Grace Torrance, and their families. The Funeral Service will be held at FIFTH AVENUE MEMORIAL UNITED CHURCH, 476 – 4th Street SE, on Saturday, November 21st, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Helen Reid officiating. FLUG

Brian “Gary” Flug passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2015, at the age of 73 years, beloved husband of Mary-Ann Weigel) Flug of Medicine Hat. He also leaves to cherish his memory his daughter KellieRae (David) Mallette of Calgary and their son Scott; daughter-in-law Michelle (Leon) van Rensburg of Medicine Hat and her children, Schantel Flug (Chris Hochheimer) and Dallas Flug and Leon’s son Wessel van Rensburg. He was predeceased by his son Darren on October 19, 2003. He also leaves to cherish his memory three brothers, Ken (Barb), Wayne, and Richard (Donna); one sister, Delores (Jim) Leach; Mary-Ann’s family: Irene (Larry) Todd, James (Cheryl) Weigel, Debbie (Gary) Podesta and sister-in-law Mary Ann Weigel as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Evelyn and Henry Flug; a sister Doreen in infancy; two brothers, Gordon (Susan) Flug and Norman (Rose) Flug; his father and mother-in-law, Anton & Veronica (nee Bischoff) Weigel; sisters-in-law Josephine (John) Getz and Katherine (Ken) Sayer and brother-in-law Peter Weigel. Gary was born on March 6, 1942, in Burstall, Saskatchewan. At the age of six he moved with his family to Redcliff residing there until his marriage to Mary-Ann on November 9, 1963. He began employment as a partsman at a garage and then tried office work, then farming, concrete work and finally owning his own business “Sunshine Korner”. Gary was very active and an extremely good athlete. He was involved in all kinds of sports such as swimming, basketball, baseball, hockey and golf excelling at them all. Being a sociable person, he always surrounded himself with people and by nature was very generous. He was always agreeable with any request anyone had, if he didn’t know how, hewould figure it out, no matter the cost or how much time it took. He will be greatly missed. Those who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 – 10:25 a.m. Family and friends will gather for prayers in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated in Holy Family Parish (1451 Strachan Road SE) on Wednesday November 18, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. HEINRICH DYCK

Hank P. Dyck, age 85, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2015, at the Palliser Regional Care Centre, surrounded by his family. The Funeral Service was held at 2 p.m. on November 19, 2015, at Zion Mennonite Church, with Herman J. Wiebe officiating. The Interment Service was at Hillcrest Cemetery. Hank was survived by his wife, Eva, whom he married on August 24, 1954; his daughters, Pat (Robin) Bunkosky, Glenda (Neil) Grant, and Nancy (Casey) Tomkowicz; his grandchildren, Thorin and Tanita Bunkosky, Tyler, April and Sherri Plante, and Matthew and Zachary Tomkowicz; his step-grandchildren, Andrew and Alissa Grant; his brother, Ben (Leona) Dyck, and numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Peter W. and Anna Dyck; and his siblings, Anna, in infancy, Anna Penner, Susie Wiens, Bill, John, Ike, Jake, Agnes Wiens, Dave, and Peter, in infancy. His first job was working for 3 years as a farmhand on a local farm, followed by working for a bridge construction crew. He first started working at Coopers in Swift Current as a delivery truck driver, and then after it became the Pioneer Co-op, he moved to the grocery department, and later became the grocery and cafeteria manager. In 1974 he moved to Medicine Hat to become the grocery manager at the Medicine Hat Co-op, where he worked until his retirement in 1990. He and Eva returned to Swift Current upon retirement, where he became a regular volunteer for the Mennonite Village Committee and the Zion Mennonite Church. Hank enjoyed playing guitar and singing, softball and baseball, curling, golfing, camping and home-renovating. He especially enjoyed having coffee with friends and spending time with his grandchildren.
