1923 – MARTHA KERIK – 2015
Martha Kerik of Medicine Hat passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at the age of 92 years. Martha was predeceased by the father of her three daughters, Peter Sebit and later by her late husband Jack Kerik. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters Gerry (Gordon) Paulson of Medicine Hat and their two children James and Gord; Marilyn (Ken) Boswell of Medicine Hat and their two children Corrie and Brett of Scottsdale, Arizona and Sharon (Scott) Forrester of Victoria, B.C. and their two children Jennifer of Maui, Hawaii and Jeffery of Vancouver, B.C. and two great-grandchildren Danielle Russell of Scottsdale, Arizona and Lucas Paulson of Pineknott, Kentucky; three nephews Brain (Jackie) Schaufele, Donald (Leslie) Schaufele and Neil (Fran) Schaufele of Medicine Hat and two brothers Howard (Irene) Schaufele of Edmonton, AB, and Ken (Betty) Schaufele of Toronto, Ontario as well as numerous nieces and nephews located in Nanton, AB, Victoria, B.C., Edmonton, AB, Toronto, Ontario and Medicine Hat, AB. Martha also leaves to cherish her memory a step-daughter Rose (John) Weimer of Medicine Hat and family; Step-sons George (Deanna) Kerik and family and Les (Rose) Kerik of Vancouver, B.C.
A private family internment will be held at the Medicine Hat Hillside Cemetary at 11:00am on Friday, November 6 with Reverend Blaine Schaufele officiating, followed by a luncheon for all FRIENDS and FAMILY at noon at the Royal Canadian Legion, #17, 702-2nd Street SE, Medicine Hat.
Memorial tributes in Martha's name may be directed to the "Poppy Fund" care of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #17, 702-2nd Street SE, Medicine Hat, AB.

Louis Chow age 83, passed peacefully on October 31st. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so on Friday, November 6th, 7:30-9:00 pm at Saamis Memorial Funeral Chapel. CHRISTIAN F. AUCH
Chris was born July 17, 1924 in Schuler, Alberta. His family moved to Medicine Hat and he attended Elm Street and Alexandra Junior High Schools. He enlisted in the army in 1941 and took his training in Hamilton, Ontario. Chris was shipped to England, trained as a Motor Mechanic and served in the 4th Armoured Regiment in Europe. After the war, he worked in Toronto for many years. He came back to Medicine Hat to spend his retirement years. Chris passed away on November 2, 2015. He was predeceased by his wife, Irene, in August 1991. He leaves to mourn his passing his daughter, Shirley Beadle and Granddaughter, Victoria Weekes in Ontario, and his best friend and loving companion, Esme Crowther. Chris will be remembered by his friends as a kind, caring, generous gentleman who loved children and animals, especially dogs. He loved to work in the yard, tinker in the garage, read, and travel, especially to Hawaii. Chris was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #17 and the Veiner Centre where he enjoyed time with his buddies. We would like to thank the staff at the Masterpiece for the excellent care and loving ways they took care of Chris during his illness. A memorial service will be held a later date. Cindy Lee Minard of Medicine Hat, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 30, 2015, at the age of 52 years. She leaves to cherish her memory her parents Neil and Ina Thurber of Calgary; one brother Cory (Corey) Thurber of Kaslo, B.C.; one sister Dagny (Cliff) Brown of Barrhead; her daughter Brittany Minard (Chad Dulle) of Medicine Hat, her father Steve Minard of Calgary and grandmother Joan Meldrum of Calgary.
