Born in Stockton on Tees, United Kingdom on August 24th, 1935, Betty Atkinson, beloved wife of Barry Atkinson of Medicine Hat, passed away on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2015 at the age of 80 years. Betty also leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Karen (Ron) Lokaisingh and Bev (Kelly) Roach; seven grandchildren, Jillian (JD) Gaetan, Andrew (Ashley) Roach, Nigel, Emma, Sarah, Liam and Faith Lokaisingh; and one great granddaughter, Amelia; one sister, Pauline (Douglas) Currie; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Betty had a great sense of humor, even when her health started to decline. She loved animals and their house was never without at least one pet. She also loved to travel, Barry and Betty worked in Saudia Arabia for 5 years before retiring to Alberta. Betty saw many places during that time, including the UAE, Cyprus, Israel, Egypt, Thailand and Sri Lanka. She had many fond memories of these places and talked of them often. Betty was an active member of St. Barnabas Anglican Church as well as the Alpha Course. She made many friends throughout her life and will be terribly missed by all.
