John E. Schulz passed away suddenly at his home Wednesday, July 15th, 2015. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lilly; sons, Edward, Dave (Linda), Nishar (Kathy); daughter, Heidi; and grandsons, Nathan, Caleb, and Jordan. John had one sister, Ilse, who resides in Germany; and sister-in-law, Hilma (Richard); along with many nieces and nephews in Ontario, Germany, England, and the U.S. John was predeceased by his parents, Johann and Melitta Schulz; 3 brothers, Herbert, Arnold, and Edward; and brothers-in-law, Reinhold Jr. (Linda, Barbara, and Donna) and Deiter Hansen. Doris May Olson, passed away peacefully in Bow Island on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at the age of 94 years.

Doris is survived by three children Darryl (Marlene) Olson of Taber, Eleanor Dorren of Lethbridge and Duane Olson of Bow Island; grandchildren Candice (Wayne Reti), Kent, Lisa (Jim Meckelborg), Chad (Allison), Jennifer (Jeremy), Blake (Leslie), Jason (Marsha); great grandchildren Wyatt and Makenna Reti, Livia and Reid Meckelborg, Derek Dorren, Alyssa and Jessie.
She was predeceased by her son John Kenneth “Ken” Olson and her sister Margaret Hill and brother-in-law Pat Hill.
Doris was born on the family farm near Bow Island on September 9, 1920. She worked for many years in the kitchen of the Bow Island Hospital. Doris was an accomplished gardener and enjoyed sharing much of her bountiful harvest with family and friends. She had a love for animals and enjoyed many domestic activities including cooking and canning.
Doris will be dearly missed.

JEAN MORRIS

January 25, 1927 ~ July 16, 2015
Jean Morris (nee Good), beloved wife to William Henry (Bill) Morris, slipped away peacefully with the dawn on July 16, 2015 at the age of 88 years. Jean will always be remembered for her love of life, independent spirit, sense of humour, and twinkling eyes. Following Bill’s death in 1965, Jean went back to school and in 1972 became one of the first mature female students to earn a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting Major) from the University of Calgary. She went on to work for Alberta Gas Trunk Lines (Nova Corporation) in various senior accounting roles for over 10 years. After her retirement in 1984, Jean became an avid traveller, making it to every continent except Antarctica. As the daughter of Carl and Ida (nee Brost) Good, Jean was born into two pioneer ranching families. She grew up on the family ranch just north of the Cypress Hills and never lost her love of wide open spaces and big skies. Jean and Bill had three children: Maureen Jean (who died in infancy), Marleen Jean (Andrew Young), and William Charles (Chuck) (Pamela Burgess). Jean also had two grandchildren, Krista and Scott Morris, and followed their accomplishments in sports and school with great pride. Jean was an inspiration and a source of strength for her family and many others whose lives were touched by her spirit. It is with heavy hearts that the Care staff and the resident family announce the passing of their beloved friend, Judith Gloria Rennie of Medicine Hat, on Thursday, July 16, 2015, at the age of 62 years. Judy was born in Edmonton, AB., on July 4, 1953, and moved to Medicine Hat in 1993 following her time at the Michener Centre in Red Deer, AB. She had a joyful spirit and loved being silly. Judy always kept busy with life and activities and forever wanted her “shoe shoes” on so she could keep moving. She loved outings especially trips on the bus and car rides. Some of her special activities were singing with friends and food. Judy attended the CORE Association throughout the week and participated in many community events such as volunteering and swimming. She will be remembered as having an amazing enthusiasm for life and keeping all around her young at heart. Judy’s memory will be forever treasured in the hearts of her friends at CORE Association and her “family” at Next Step as well as all those who contributed to Judy having a wonderful and meaningful life. WALTER GLADU

1932 ~ 2015
Mr. Walter Harvey Gladu, beloved husband of Mrs. Margaret Gladu of 62 years, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, July 20, 2015, at the age of 82 years. Walter leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Margaret; seven children, Keith (Jill Shupe), Jeanette Frey, Pat (Henry) Aaker, Wayne (Maureen), Kristine (Rod) Bosch, Karen (Albert) Haggstrom and Kenny; son-in-law, Glenn Dorn, 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Walter is also survived by three brothers, Len of Winnipeg, MB, Jack of Barrie, ON., and Brian of Gravenhurst, ON; one sister, Patsy and one brother-in-law, Albert both of Winnipeg. Walter was predeceased by his daughter, Judy; grandchildren, Candace and Robert, great-grandson, Braden; two brothers, Gilbert and Ernie; sister, Pearl and his parents, John and Lena. Walter was born in Portage La Prairie, MB., on December 14, 1932, and married Margaret Mitchell on February 28, 1953. They moved to Medicine Hat from Winnipeg in May of 1967. Walter was a carpenter by trade and ran his own business, WH Contractors. He raised and raced pigeons with his nephew, Gordon and was an avid pony chariot and chuckwagon racer for many years. Walter enjoyed quarter horse racing and became an avid golfer later on in life.
