JORDAN, COLLEEN
1969 – 2015
46 years
It is with deepest sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved Colleen on Tuesday May 5, 2015. She went peacefully to be with Jesus, at her home in Sundre with her loving family at her side.
Colleen leaves to cherish her memory her devoted and loving husband, William (Bill) Jordan, her loving children Ryan (Karri) Muller and Jordan Muller, her loving parents Fran Lowe and Macky Watt, her half brother David Watt, many aunties, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other family and many dear friends. She was predeceased by her grandparents William and Myrtle Evans of Beatty, SK. & John and Signe Watt of Porcupine Plain, SK.
Ann Colleen Watt was born February 27, 1969 in Melfort, SK. At the age of 6 months she moved with her parents to Rocky Mtn House, Ab where she spent her early years, attending school at Lochearn Elementary through grade 8. She entered grade 9 in Vulcan and finished her high school at Senator Gershaw in Bow Island, AB.
Working or playing, Colleen loved all things outdoors; hiking, climbing, exploring, animals of all kinds. She loved her pets and over the years had many of them: dogs of every breed and size, kittens, birds, fish, an iguana, even a big hairy spider found a home with her! Her dogs Sugar and Hudson will miss her greatly.
In 1988 Colleen married Kasper Muller of Bow Island, Ab and together they had two children, Ryan and Jordan. Over the next few years Colleen and her family spent most of their time on the family Dairy Farm. She would be up at the crack of dawn to feed calves and end the day preparing an abundance of food for her family. She truly was a country girl at heart. She loved the freedom of the outdoors and spending time with the animals. However, in 2003 she moved with her family to the big city of Medicine Hat. With her children in high school, she found work at City Signs and later, Vanshaw Casinos. And for a couple of years, she was a very special and second Mom to Brooks. Colleen was easygoing and warm hearted. She was very accepting of everyone who came through the door and thought of everyone before herself.
In 2012 Colleen moved to Sundre, Ab where she married Bill Jordan 2 years later. She found employment there with Tom and Debra King at Maxwell Realty. Here is where her friendly nature shone through. She effortlessly put a smile on everyone’s face the moment she came into the room. She still liked the outdoors and being close to the mountains added to her already happy bubbly personality. Even in her last months, Colleen’s strength and stubborn attitude came through not wanting to be a burden on anyone. Not that she ever was. Her love for her children is never ending. She was and still is a beautiful woman and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Colleen was a precious gift from God and we give her back to Him with thankful hearts for the time we had with her.
A celebration of Colleen’s life was held on May 12, 2015 at the Cowboy Church, James River Hall, Sundre, Ab. Her family would like to thank everyone who attended for their support and expressions of love and care. We also thank the following: Tom and Gordon for their kind words at the memorial service, Don, Carol and Debbie for the beautiful music, Fern, Debra and all of the Cowboy Church family for the lovely luncheon, a very special thanks to Jordan who, with Karri’s help, made several of her Mom’s salads for all of us to enjoy.
Thank you to everyone for your gifts of food, flowers, cards, visits, phone calls, texts, emails and especially for your prayers. Thanks also to those who contributed to either of her memorial funds, the Cowboy Church and Colleen’s Memorial (a park bench).
A very special and heartfelt ‘Thank You’ goes to Drs Rob and Michelle Warren and their nurses, Shaila and Leah for the wonderful ‘at home’ care and support they provided to Colleen and her family. We can never repay you for that blessing; thank you hardly seems enough. God bless you.
Thank you to Brian and Sunset Funeral Service of Linden, Ab for their warm and professional care.

MINA RITTINGER (nee MILLER)
June 27, 1930-May 18, 2015
Our mother Mina was born in Moose Jaw and spent most of her growing years on her parents’ sheep farm near Mortlach, Saskatchewan. Later the family moved into Mortlach where Mom finished her education and worked part time as a telephone operator. Upon graduating she moved to Swift Current where she continued her work for the telephone company and eventually met Alvin who she wed in 1950. They lived briefly in Lethbridge where Glen and Diane were born, then moved back to Swift Current where Cam, Jim, Laurie, and Kevin soon followed.
Although Mom was a member of the Rebecca Lodge, enjoyed many Kiwanis events with Dad, curled, golfed, played bridge, and enjoyed time at LacPelletier, her true passion was her role as homemaker. She was a stay at home mother until we began to leave the nest. Whether it was washing floors, tending to her children and their many friends who were always welcome, or whipping up a meal for the family and any strays Dad or one of us brought home unexpectedly, she was expert at making it all work. In 1973, she decided to get her driver’s license and, with us kids beginning to make our own ways in life, began a new chapter in her life. She served as the Mayor’s wife and about the same time put her homemaking skills to work as an employee of the Swift Current Home Care Association. Mom would eventually move on to working for several years at Fanny’s Fabrics. She spoke often of her favorite trip to the Maritimes, loved chocolate covered marshmallow treats and a good meal of ham and scalloped potatoes.
In July of 2010, Mom moved to The Wellington Retirement Residence in Medicine Hat where her first order of business was to set up a bridge club. She made new friends, joined the social committee, and enjoyed morning coffee as often as she was able. She was an avid sports fan and watched every curling, golf, hockey, baseball, and eventually soccer game available. Mom lived independently, but always enjoyed visits with and phone calls from family, especially her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mina was predeceased by her husband Al, her eldest son Glen, and her five siblings. She is survived by her children Diane, Cam (Janice), Jim (Janay), Laurie (Lorne) Swalm, Kevin; her daughter-in-law Connie; fourteen grandchildren and seven great-grand children. She will be dearly missed.
Funeral services will be held in the First United Church in Swift Current on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with a private interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Swift Current Broncos Education Fund.
Forwarding arrangements have been made by the Pattison Funeral Home to Warren’s Funeral Home, 126 2nd Ave NE, Swift Current. To e-mail an expression of sympathy, please direct it to:

Perfect Peace…
It was one week ago today that St. Patrick’s Catholic Church opened it’s doors to family and friends gathering to celebrate the life of a much beloved lady, Janet Steinke. Father Philip Le led the congregation through this Mass of Resurrection, sharing words of comfort and strength with the family… the many voices in the Parish Choir sounded as though they were one as their voices echoed through the Church… Jim’s Brother Knights stood together next to his family as a pillar of strength and a symbol of solidarity. Before joining the fellowship, following the Mass, Jim and family said their final farewell to Janet in the peaceful surroundings of the Redcliff Cemetery.
God grants us time to live and love,
But our time on earth is but a lease…
Janet’s love touched so many,
Her reward is perfect peace.
Her Life Lived…
Her Life Cherished…
Her Life Honoured.

RALPH STIRRETT GARNETT
Ralph was born on December 17th 1926 in Swift Current Saskatchewan, second son of Prelate home steadier’s Winfred Rohan and Anne Beatrice Garnett, brother to Ronald Thomas Garnett.
Born in a time just before the Great Depression, like many men and women of the era his habits, attitudes, ideology and work ethic were a product of having lived through and flourished in a time which most of us can only imagine.
We know from his stories that many of his fondest childhood memories were of the time spent with his brother and mother in Orangeville Ontario. The family returned to Prelate in the mid 1930’s and have farmed here ever since.
In 1958 Ralph married Barbra Gramlich, they had three sons Ralph Homes, Earl Patrick, and Neil Thomas and raised them together in Saskatoon.
During his life Ralph’s work experience was as varied as the country roads he loved. From a bakery, the Railway to the mines in Thompson & Sudbury . Business agent for trade unions to Master painter. One thing was always certain, his heart was always with family and farm.
Ralph Returned to the area in the mid 1980’s after the passing of his mother and resided in Sceptre until recently moving to Calgary for health reason.
His survivors share many fond memories of suitcase farming, welding school and house boating but agree he shall always be remembered as Husband, Father, Friend, Teacher and Farmer.
A Funeral Service for Ralph was held on Friday May 15, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. from the Sceptre United Church, Sceptre, Saskatchewan with Rev. Salesi Takau Officiating.
May your crops be bountiful, the seasons fare and your future guided by the spirit from within you.
You will be missed but not forgotten.

RIDGEWELL
Walter Ridgewell of Medicine Hat passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2015, at the age of 94 years, beloved husband of the late Marion Ridgewell. He leaves to cherish his memory three children Walter and Nancy (Christopher, Carly); Jim and Cheryl (Rhiannon, Dylan); Donna and Dave Zora (Alyssa and Ashley); as well as his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Marion on December 4, 2012; three brothers, Bill, Jim and George and one sister Winnie Allworth. Walter was born on August 21, 1920 in Narcisse, Manitoba and was raised in the Hodgeville, Saskatchewan area until moving to Medicine Hat. As a young man he worked in the original Medicine Hat Hospital as an orderly. When war came, as did many of his generation he enlisted in the army. His posting was in Canada rather than overseas as he was the youngest of four brothers and the others had already received overseas postings. The art of cooking was a skill he learned in the army and carried that through his life, making army sized pots of soup to share. He had the travel bug early in life, often travelling by train to the coast to see his brothers. His first car was a Rambler and once he had wheels, he travelled to his destinations by car, near and far. He married Marion Jack on August 17, 1960 in Calgary and they made Medicine Hat their home. Walter was a long time employee at the Maple Leaf Mill until its closure in the early 1980’s when he retired. Enjoying the outdoors, he spent much time in his garden until a last year when he had to leave his home. A man of simple pleasures, he enjoyed Hockey Night in Canada with his favorite beverage of warm Pilsner. Always the optimist, he purchased lottery tickets faithfully every week since 1971. Walter did not fulfill his lifelong dream of winning the big prize, but not for lack of trying and having a good time at it. His hardworking and loveable nature will be missed. The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Friday, May 22, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. with Life Celebrant, David Townsend.
