Barbara Ellen Burton of Medicine Hat, passed away on Wednesday, March 4th, 2015 at the age of 76. Barbara leaves to cherish her memory her brother, James (Doreen) Burton; as well as seven nieces and nephews. Barbara was predeceased by her parents, James and Florence Burton; and two brothers, David and Robert Burton. Barbara had fond memories of her growing up years on the farm at Tilley and received her education in Renfrew and Tilley. Barbara was very intelligent and loved learning. She became a teacher and taught in Rolling Hills, Duchess, Taber and Medicine Hat. Through her kind, patient and loving nature she was able to positively influence many students. Her interests were varied and included travel, reading, painting, guitar, piano, singing and knitting. After retirement she helped many people through her love of natural medicine with Reiki and Health Kinesiology. Barbara loved and cherished her family and her love for and extensive work in genealogy will be a legacy for them. After her brother’s death, the nurturing of his son, Aaron, became a very important part of her life. Barbara had a wonderful way with people and many called her friend. The Funeral Service will be held at CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS, 7 Sierra Boulevard SW, on Friday, March 6th, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. with Bishop J. Mulholland presiding. Violet Anderson of Medicine Hat, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2015, at the age of 89 years, beloved wife of the late Bill Anderson. She leaves to cherish her memory three children, Clifford (Dawn) Anderson, Carole (Bill) MacDougall and Barry (Judy) Anderson; seven grandchildren, Tannis (Jim), Jennifer, Keith (Izabela), Craig (Zoe), Kent, Ryan (Koreen) and Graham; eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Roy (Doris) Heringer and Vern (Lena) Heringer; two sisters, Viola Beres and Diana (Frank) Schneider; two sisters-in-law, Agnes Heringer and Margie Heringer. Violet was predeceased by her parents, Lydia and William Heringer; four brothers, Earl Heringer, Calvin Heringer, Art (Melonie) Heringer and Ivan Heringer; two sisters, Frances (Allen) Schneider and Vera (Henry) Croissant; one brother-in-law, Louis Beres. October 17, 1928 ~ February 25, 2015

Anne Marie Liboiron (nee Juss) passed away peacefully at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at the age of 86 years. A devoted and loving wife, she is reunited with her husband of nearly 65 years, James who preceded her almost one year ago. She was born on the farm in Jenner, AB., on October 17, 1928 to William and Mary Juss. Anne was the much loved mother to five sons; Gerry (Gloria Sletvold), Russell (Kathy Greeley), Gregory (Janice Cameron), Jerome (Lori Thompson) and Marcel (Lorraine Mack); grandmother to 12 grandchildren; a great- grandmother to 13 great-grandchildren and a sister to Agnes Burnat. She was predeceased by her brothers, George and Leo; her sister, Helen and two grandchildren, Joel and Curtis. Anne was her families’ bedrock; steadfast in her principles and beliefs, ever encouraging, a motivator when one was needed and a constant source of strength, wit, support and love. Her family was always her first priority and for them, Anne was untiring in her efforts and extremely generous in ensuring their education, welfare and success. She never complained, even as the cancer took her weakened body. Anne lived her religion faithfully and was a proud Canadian who quietly treasured the Queen’s Jubilee Medal. Anne was always on the lookout for a worthy Scrabble opponent and loved to play cards – but, she didn’t have to win. As with so much of her life, she chose instead to enjoy the moment and the people around her. Anne will be missed. Heartfelt thanks to the staff at Masterpiece Retirement Home for their loving care. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so starting one hour prior to Vigil Prayers which will be recited at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, 238 – 2 Avenue N.E., Medicine Hat, on Thursday, March 5, 2015, at 2:00 p.m., with Reverend Father Tomy Manjaly Celebrant. Della Dianne Cairney, born July 8th, 1939, passed away February 26th, 2015 at the age of 75 years after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Della leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Tracey (Tim) Lazar; three grandchildren, Landon (Megara) Tarnasky, Breann Tarnasky, and Dallas Lazar (fiancée Amy Theise); her sister, Reta Driscoll; and special cousin, Doreen Bartoli. Russell Robert Lane passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2015, at the age of 89 years, beloved husband of Jackie Lane of Medicine Hat. He also leaves to cherish his memory four children, Sharon (Don) Hoffmeyer, Garry (Judy) Lane, Marilyn (Maurice) Hunter and Ron (Bonnie) Lane; ten grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one brother, Jim (Carrie) Lane. September 11, 1946 – Feb 27, 2015 Larry Alfred Hankins, 68, passed away suddenly in Mackenzie, British Columbia on February 27, 2015. He is already missed by all of those who knew him. He is survived by his spouse, Darlene Hankins, his children/step-children Tank, Michael (May) Winters, Wendy (Olivier) Bullion Winters, Robin and Bree Hankins, and Peggy Berthaudin; sister June (Ron) Freeman, nephew Sean Freeman, niece Kimberley Freeman, and grandchildren, Rigel and Luna Winters, Inika and Ailey Bullion Winters, and Jean and Makayla Berthaudin. He was predeceased by his mother, Aida Hankins, father, Ernie Hankins, and his daughter Dana Hankins. Larry had a gift for connecting with people from all walks of life. He always found the good in people, regardless of what they had done in the past. He tried to help those who were less fortunate. He touched hundreds of lives over the years, and those who knew him, loved him. He was an avid golfer and spent countless hours working on his golf swing. He will be remembered in our hearts forever. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cyrus Centre would be appreciated. A celebration of life will be held at Central Community Church in Chilliwack BC at 2:00 pm on Saturday March 7, 2015. A reception will follow in the gymnasium. All are welcome. A second service will be held at the Hope Trinity Church in Mackenzie, BC at 1:00 pm on March 28, 2015.

Laura passed away after a long battle with cancer on Thursday, Feb. 26 at the age of 56. Laura is survived by her loving husband Clive James of Swansea, Wales, her two sons Eric Hasfjord and Mark Hasfjord of Regina Saskatchewan. She is also survived by her father, Richard Lindsay of Medicine Hat, Noreen (Art Beyko) of Winnipeg, Allyn (Duane) Ottenbreit and family of Medicine Hat, Garth (Susan) Embree and family of California, Dawn (Chris) Keim and family of Medicine Hat and Stuart (Leona) Lindsay and family of Medicine Hat.
