Carmine D’Ambrosio passed away on Monday, January 26, 2015, at the age of 86 years, beloved husband of Antonietta D’Ambrosio of Medicine Hat. Those who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Sunday evening from 6:00 -8:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 12 noon – 12:55 p.m. Family and friends will gather for prayers in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated in Holy Family Parish (1451 Strachan Road SE) on Monday, February 2, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. with Fr. On Saturday, January 24, 2015 Dorothy Giacobbo of Lac La Biche, AB passed away at the age of 82 years.
Dorothy is survived by her children Bernard (Kirsti) Giacobbo of Athabasca, Bernadette (Ken) Kaufman of Lac La Biche, Geralyn Mouille of Fort Saskatchewan, Anna-Marie (Bruce) Adolf of Lac La Biche, Serina (Gordon) Lavallee of Lac La Biche, Rick (Tracey) Giacobbo of Sherwood Park, Angela Giacobbo of Sherwood Park, grandchildren Jared (Dana) Mouille, Colleen Adolf, Kent (Jill) Kaufman, Christopher Giacobbo (Jacelyn), Byron Adolf, Dennis (Val) Kaufman, Micki (Travis) Wagner, Joshua Lavallee, David Giacobbo, Kelly Giacobbo, Sydney Lavallee, Taylor Giacobbo, Dani Giacobbo, great grandchildren Connor & Hunter Mouille, Brynn Kaufman, brother Mike (Nancy) Hertz, nephews Jason & Cregg Hertz as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.

Prayer Services will be held on Friday, January 30, 2015 at 7:00 PM at St. Annes Catholic Church in Venice with Fr. Trini Pinca officiating.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. Annes Catholic Church in Venice with Fr. Trini Pinca officiating. “Cremation to follow at a later date.”

1941-2015
It is with deep sadness that Rita’s family announces her peaceful passing after a valiant struggle with brain cancer on Sunday, January 11, 2015. Rita is lovingly remembered by her husband, Robert (Bob) Glass, of 48 years; their 3 children and 5 grandchildren: Ryan and his daughter Cassia; Rulcie (Clarence) Norton and their son Justin; and Renessa (Mark) Lechler and their children Meagan, Jessica and Brandon. Rita is also survived by her mother Frances Obritsch of Fox Valley, brother Howard (Rosalee) Obritsch of Fox Valley, sister Linda (Dave) McWilliam of Calgary and sister Kathy Tyshkewich of Calgary. Rita was predeceased by her father Jack Obritsch. She was happiest when surrounded by family. Rita loved the outdoors and caring for animals. She was an amiable and compassionate person who cared for seniors. She was noted for her ability to nurture and was reserved and balanced in her judgement. Rita will be missed by those who knew her. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home (east on 8th St., first right past Briargate Rd). Gladys Knodel of Medicine Hat, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the age of 86 years, beloved wife of the late Fred Knodel. She leaves to cherish her memory four children, Beatrice (Wayne) Leismeister of Golden Prairie, Beverley (Larry) Comin of Edson, Bernice Knodel of Airdrie and Betty (Lorne) Rath of Medicine Hat; four grandchildren, Brandy (Mike) Armstrong, Blaine (Misty) Leismeister, Dayna (Tony) Weigel and Celine Rath; four great grandchildren, Savannah, River, Carter and Caster. She was predeceased by her parents, Emma and David Lehr; her husband Fred on July 21, 2006; two sisters, Irene Herman and Barbara Lehr in infancy. Gladys was born on July 17, 1928 in the Irvine district where she was raised on her parents farm and received her schooling at the country school. While attending a social function, Gladys met her future husband Fred Knodel and they were married on March 11, 1949. They farmed and ranched in the Walsh district for a year. They then moved to town where they raised their family and continued to farm west of Medicine Hat off the Holsom Road. Gladys and Fred loved to dance, play cards and go camping. After Fred’s passing she enjoyed travelling with Bernice on cruises and through B.C. She was a fantastic seamstress, excellent cook and meticulous homemaker. Gladys’ family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital and Carmel Hospice with a special thank you to R.N. Nancy Dykstra. .RON (R.J.) JOHNSON

August 27, 1956 ~ January 24, 2015

Ronald David Johnson, known by his close friends as R.J., passed away at St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice, Medicine Hat on Saturday, January 24, 2015, at the age of 58 years following a courageous battle with cancer. Ron will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 34 years, Maureen; daughter, Joelle and son, Taylor as well as his father, Elmer and mother-in-law, Betty Scheibner. He will be sadly missed by his sister, Lana; brothers, Murray (Joanne), Ralph (Maya) and Lyle (Bev) Johnson along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Ron was pre-deceased by his mother, Helen Johnson and father-in-law, Clarence Scheibner. Ron was born on August 27, 1956, in Assiniboia, SK., attending high school in Limerick, SK., and college in Lethbridge, AB. He moved to Bassano, AB., and started his ranching career in 1975 with LK Ranches Ltd. Ron married Maureen Scheibner in 1980 and after 13 years they moved to the Fort Macleod area where their children were born. In 1994, Ron changed careers and started working in the environmental consulting business with oil and gas companies. In 1997, the family moved to an acreage near Medicine Hat where Ron started his own consulting company, Prairie View Consulting. Ron was passionate about his work and demonstrated this passion through his commitment to the protection of native grassland. He provided many innovative ideas to reducing oil and gas environmental impacts. Ron was well respected in the rural communities and with the farmers and ranchers. He also earned great respect from the people he worked with and provided services for. Ron was very active and a respected expert in the horse industry. Ron and Maureen, through over 30 years in the horse business, have won significant awards in both Canada and the United States. Home bred horses have won National and World titles. Ron and his family loved their critters with a yard full of chickens, dogs, cats and horses. He was an avid fisherman with many related recreational adventures that created chaos with the family. Ron was always available to assist his neighbours and friends in time of need. He was always the family cornerstone with his standard saying, “Don’t worry about it”. This generally led to further chaos. Special appreciation is extended by the family to Dr. Foley and staff at St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice in Medicine Hat. A Celebration of Ron’s life will be held at the Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede Park – Cypress Centre Auditorium, 2055 – 21 Avenue S.E., Medicine Hat on Saturday, January 31, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. with Lisa Waites officiating and a luncheon to follow immediately thereafter.
