1929 ~ DAVID ~ 2015Albert E. “Al” David of Medicine Hat, beloved husband of June David, passed away on Thursday, January 22nd, 2015 at the age of 85 years. Albert also leaves to cherish his memory his son, Bill (Peggy); two granddaughters, Sarah and Meaghan; eight great grandchildren; four sisters; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Albert was predeceased by his parents, Charlie and Daisy; and three brothers. Al was born, raised and attended school in the Toronto area. He entered into The Canadian Armed Corps Service and with them moved to Alberta in the 1950’s. He met June and they were married in Calgary on July 20, 1973. They moved to the Medicine Hat area in 1997 and have remained here until his passing. 1934 ~ COOPER ~ 2015Gary Robert Cooper of Bow Island, beloved husband of the late Marcella “Lorraine” Cooper, passed away on Tuesday, January 20th, 2015, at the age of 80 years. Gary leaves to cherish his memory his children: James (Susan) Cooper and their children, Jill (Todd) Regehr and their children, Avery and Owen, Lisa (Michael) MacLeod and their son, Bennett and Kevin (Janae) Cooper; Randy Cooper and his children, Nicholas and Carson; Valerie Cooper; Kathy (Wayne) Murray and their children, Graham, Jordan, and Kailyn; Garry Cooper and his children, Rebecca and Braiden; and Robert (Laurie) Cooper and their children, Nicole and Tara; one sister, Mary McNab; one sister-in-law, Marilyn (Ron) Thorson; aunt, Margaret (Bob) Cody; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Gary was predeceased by his wife, Lorraine on March 7th, 2003; and his parents, Thomas and Lavina Cooper. Gary married his school sweetheart, Marcella “Lorraine” Cooper in Medicine Hat on October 7th, 1954. After this, they began to farm in the Burdett/Bow Island area. A family oriented man, who was a member of the Bow Island Elks Club for 55 years and an active member of the Bow Island Curling Club, Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, dancing, curling, and playing cards. After retiring from the farm to Bow Island, Gary filled his time by having a coffee at the Burdett Fire Hall or by playing cards or shooting a game of pool at the Golden Age Club. In recent years, Gary has enjoyed playing in cribbage tournaments and attending dances all over south-eastern Alberta, as well as taking in the various activities of his grandchildren. The Funeral Service will be held at ST. ANDREW’S UNITED CHURCH, 139 – 2nd Avenue West, Bow Island, on Saturday, January 24th, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Sheila McLeod officiating. 1950 ~ BENGTSON ~ 2015Lynda Darnelle Bengtson, beloved wife of Roger Bengtson of Burstall, Saskatchewan, passed away on Tuesday, January 20th, 2015 at the age of 64 years. Lynda also leaves to cherish her memory her four daughters, Dona (Mickey) Guyette of Fort MacLeod and their children, Courtney, Ashley and Clayton; Rhonda (Dale) Schmaltz of Fox Valley and their children, Mackayla and Rayel; Cheryl (Darren) Frerichs of Liebenthal and their children, Mathew and Parker; and Kristin Bengtson of Burstall and her daughter, Erika; three brothers, Larry Stimson of Preeceville, Saskatchewan, Stanley (Marlene) Stimson of Leader, Saskatchewan, and Gary (Anita) Stimson of Medicine Hat; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Lynda was born on June 7th, 1950 to Park and Dona Stimson. She was the eldest and only daughter of 5. Growing up on a ranch near Manyberries she was her father’s daughter and the apple of her mom’s eye. She went to school in Manyberries and then onto business college where she graduated as a Secretary. In 1967 she met the love of her life Roger Bengtson and on December 30th, 1972 they were united in marriage. Together they became parents to 4 beautiful daughters and later grandparents to 8 grandchildren. After living in a few places, they moved their family to Burstall and Lynda found “HOME” and her pride and joy, “Lynda’s Pizza”. Lynda had many hobbies but her passions were her flowers, tending to her pond, watching birds and quilting. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at the BURSTALL COMMUNITY HALL, Burstall, Saskatchewan on Saturday from 2:30 to 3:25 p.m. C.S.T. The Funeral Service will be held at BURSTALL COMMUNITY HALL on Saturday, January 24th, 2015 at 3:30 p.m. C.S.T. with Dr. Shane Andrus officiating.
