Joan Anderson of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Thomas “Red” Anderson, passed away on Saturday, January 3rd, 2015 at the age of 95 years. Joan leaves to cherish her memory her son, Graham Anderson. Barbara Lowther of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Edward Lowther, passed away on Tuesday, December 30th, 2014 at the age of 82 years. Barbara leaves to cherish her memory her children, Alfred (Jean) Lowther, Brian (Iona) Goldie, Randy (Debra) Goldie, Brett (Anne) Goldie, Adrianne Lowther, and Maureen (George) Wrzyszcz; ten grandchildren; numerous great- grandchildren; one brother, Ken Chugg; two sisters, Irene Cull and Lynne Lamb; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Barbara was predeceased by her parents, Everrett and Florence Chugg; two great-grandchildren; and one brother, Gordon Chugg. Barbara will be remembered for her devotion to her service clubs, The Royal Purple and The Eagles. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. June 14, 1913 – January 4, 2015
Ida passed away peacefully on the 4th of January, 2015 at the age of 101.6 years. She leaves to mourn her passing five children, their spouses and families: Robert (Millie) Jesse, Mildred (Fred) Meier, Marvin (May) Jesse, Eleanor (Harry) Zeller and Donna Adams all of Medicine Hat; sixteen grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren, eight great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband Gust Jesse in 1973, and her second husband Ted Gehring in 1994, as well as all ten of her siblings. She was a resident of South Country Village for twenty one years, then spending four months at Meadowlands and her last month in the Havenview at South Country Village. Ida’s family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Havenview for their care and attention this past month. A special thank you to her very good friend Pastor Bob. Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday from 1:00 – 1:55 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Wednesday January 7, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. She leaves to cherish her memory one son Andrew (Charlene) Prettie of Calgary and one grandson, John (Caylla) Prettie of Calgary, special friends Leonard and Penny Schmidt of B.C. as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her husband James S. Prettie, her son Joel W. Prettie, her parents Wesley J. and Ruby R. Weidman; two sisters Eleanor Clyne and Audry Lake.
