(nee TONKS)

March 11, 1935 ~ December 23, 2014

Jerry left in a state of peaceful equilibrium on Tuesday, December 23, 2014, at St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice after a brief struggle with cancer. Left to mourn her passing is her son, Michael (Lorraine) Parry of Edmonton; daughter, Valerie (Eddie) Davis of Suffield; grandson, Mick (Tiya) Davis of Medicine Hat and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Matt. The Funeral Service will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel on Monday, December 29, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Father Philip Le officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. .JAMES NEIL WALLACE

October 24, 1925 ~ December 22, 2014

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of an honourable man, James Neil Wallace of Medicine Hat, on December 22, 2014. Jim was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth “Bette” Wallace, in 2002 and his sister, Margaret Valentine, of Whiterock, BC in 2013. Born in Warner, Alberta, on October 24, 1925, Jim’s parents later moved to Lethbridge where he was raised and educated. In his youth, he spent much time playing basketball and tennis and always had a passion for sports. At the age of 30, Jim found his love for golf. In his retirement years, a typical day usually included a round with his friends at the Connaught Golf Club, where he also once served as President. Jim joined the Royal Canadian Air Force at 17, and was one of the youngest flying officers in Canada during WWII. After the war, Jim began his career with Canada Post where he climbed the ranks to Assistant Post Master before retiring. As a steadfast, principled man, Jim was known for his complete devotion to his family. To his wife, he was a passionate and dedicated husband whose chivalry never rested. To his children, he taught respect, responsibility and unconditional love. To his grandchildren, he modeled what it means to be a good man. In Jim’s eyes, his family did no wrong and he was always on their side. Jim will forever be remembered in the hearts of his children, Jack (Joyce) Doran of Calgary, Cindy Andrews of Medicine Hat, Banning Wallace of Medicine Hat and Kim Soltysik of Tsawwassen, B.C.; grandchildren, Paula (Jeff) Doran, Tanya (Mark) Beyak, Nicole (Allan) Cheriyan, Aaron Andrews, Adam (Amanda) Andrews, Joshua Soltysik, Justin Wallace, Jaime (Daniel) D’Amour, Parry Wallace, MacKenzie Wallace and Grady Wallace; as well as his great grandchildren, Brendan and Jordan Davies, Jakub and Austin Wallace, Jack and Jane Beyak, Alex and Olivia Cheriyan, Caleb, Samuel and Jude Andrews, Olliver, Abby and Elliot D’Amour. 1963 ~ 2014
Lawrence (Larry) Gordon Crane passed away in Medicine Hat on Saturday, December 20, 2014, at the age of 51 years. Larry was born in Edmonton, Alberta on February 3, 1963 and spent most of his life living in Medicine Hat. Larry will be remembered by his sisters, Lori (Wilf) Gareau and Gerry Crane; children, Tony, Dustin and DJ and a very good friend, Barry Lawrence. He was predeceased by his parents, Donald and Mary Ann Crane. A Graveside Celebration of Larry’s life will take place at Hillside Cemetery in the spring of 2015. Mathilda “Tillie” Miller of Medicine Hat passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2014, at the age of 93 years, beloved wife of the late John Miller. She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Glen (Carol) Miller of Penhold; her daughter, Gloria Thomas of Medicine Hat; sons-in-law, Ken Marran of Medicine Hat and Ian Thomas of Rossland, B.C.; six grandchildren, Deb Dias, Duane Marran, Christopher Miller, Sandra Miller, John Thomas and Crystal (Chad) Besplug; three great grandchildren, Terrance (Kristyn) Davey, Jade Davey (Alex Kerr) and Jenessa Davey; two great great grandchildren, Azariah Davey and Kelser Davey; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Katie Miller, Christina Resch, Frank (Betty) Miller, Clara Miller, Lena Eresman, Susan (George) Costea, Leonard Miller, Violet (Edwin) Fischer and Loretta Miller as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Tillie was predeceased by her husband, John Miller on September 20, 1968; her daughter, Irene Marran on April 11, 1993; parents, Martin and Mathilda Resch; ten brothers, Frank, Mendred, Louie, Robert, John, Alois, Alec, Sam, Jack and Joseph; six sisters, Mary Mardian, Margaret Resch, Katie Hammel, Lizzie Unreiner, Lana Resch and Emily Dirk; three siblings who passed away in childhood, Ludwig, Lana and Elevise and three brothers-in-law, Jack, Valentine and David. Tillie was born on April 4, 1921 in Fox Valley where she was raised. On November 15, 1938, she married John Miller of Krassna. Together they moved to Medicine Hat in the early 1960’s where they have resided ever since. Tillie was a long time member of the CWL, the Elks and sang in the church choir for many years. She loved dancing and had a great sense of humor. Tillie was a loving, kind and generous person to everyone she knew. She will be sadly and very deeply missed byher family and friends. Those who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on, Friday from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 to 10:55 a.m. Family and friends will gather for prayers in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Friday, December 26, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated in Holy Family Parish (1451 Strachan Road SE) on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Philip Le celebrant. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery.
