.Last week, a ceremony was held to reflect the life of a most nurturing mother, loving wife, supportive grandma and devoted foster parent, Monique Roberts. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was the place of worship where Bishop Prince led the service for the family and friends in attendance… family was her life and she would have been proud to see her children, Eric and Catrine stand strong before the congregation and express their thoughts of mom and share memories from the grandchildren… the church was filled with the sound of an organ solo along with traditional hymns… with the bright sun shining down, Monique’s family carried her to her place of rest at Hillside Cemetery. Monique made the world a brighter place and her presence will be deeply missed.
Lift up your heart and share with me,
God wanted me now, from sickness set free
Her Life Lived…
Her Life Cherished…
Her Life Honoured.

.Last week marked a special time as family and many friends gathered at Victory Lutheran Church for a Candlelight Service in honour of Anne Bartman’s life. Prior to the service, the procession to the cemetery departed from the church and made its way past the Kinplex before a peaceful stop was made by the wonderful home where Anne and Lloyd raised their family… it was a beautiful evening with the sun shining as Anne was taken to her final place of rest at Hillside… the celebration continued at the church with hundreds of people attending and showing their support. Minister de Waal led the congregation in scripture and prayer and provided comfort in her words… Anne was all about family and they stood strong and spoke warmly of the lady they were proud to call Mom and Gramma… the calming song, “Silent Night” was sung by the congregation as the candlelight ceremony united those in attendance and the soft glow of the candlelight warmed everyone’s hearts.
The candle will flicker
in the dark of the night…
It is a beacon of hope
As it shines oh so bright
Her Life Lived…
Her Life Cherished…
Her Life Honoured.
